Obama’s Executive Order is the New Emancipation Proclamation, by Kevin Jackson

Recently a Leftist Liberal Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation commented on ABC News that Obama’s executive order to prevent the children of illegals from being pursued by the InJustice Department was a “brilliant political move” and she likened it to the Emancipation Proclamation. When you put on yourself in the mind of a Liberal , you can see her point.

First, let’s just call this what it is. This “brilliant political move” all about Obama’s re-election. Obama cannot get re-elected without the influx of illegal votes, and more specifically illegal Mexican votes. It was indeed brilliant for Obama to pretend that he cares about all illegal immigrants, just don’t expect him to meet with the Bosnians anytime soon.

The similarities

The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln back, and Obama’s amnesty for Mexicans was also an executive order. George Will, to whom vanden Heuvel referred, countered her argument with the fact that Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War using his war powers, Will alluding that Obama had not issued his EO during a time of war.

This is not necessarily the case, as George Will had not completely fact-checked his statement.

The fact is that America’s Nobel Peace Prize winning president Obama was well within his Constitutional authority to issue this Executive Order, because Obama has been at war with the U.S. taxpaying citizen. That war began when Obama took office in Jan 2009, and is known in Conservative circles as the War on Achievement.

Another similarity to the Emancipation Proclamation is, like President Lincoln, Obama side-stepped Congress.

Lincoln was fighting a racist Congress full of Democrats who were hell bent on continuing slavery. Obama has argued effectively that he is facing a Congress full of radical Republicans who, as they did with slavery are attempting to prevent Democrats from re-enslaving the American taxpayers, and avoiding what I call Emancipation II: This time even the white folks get freed.

Obama had to avoid a Congressional showdown for the greater good: The freeing of Mexican slaves.

The Right will argue that Mexicans are not slaves, as it was unheard of for slaves to sneak onto plantations. Mexican nationals, aka illegal immigrants or banditos regularly sneak into the U.S.  The Left contends that this illegal activity of sneaking onto the plantation that is America causes the banditos to hide in the shadows of American society, preventing the banditos taking advantage of the laws afforded citizens.

In effect, the lawbreakers can’t run to the legal system, and are thus subjected to substandard wages, and substandard working conditions. If only these illegal Mexicans could unionize! The absence of union strong-arming them—strike that— protecting them, has rendered the Mexican banditos de facto slaves.

The Left says that the banditos are good for the economy; they give far more than they receive from this country, and it’s time their slavery end. This brings me to yet another similarity to the Emancipation Proclamation, which is the Emancipation Proclamation freed some slaves, but not all slaves.  Neither does Obama’s EO.

Obama’s EO includes only the 800,000 “children” of banditors, ages 16-30, but not the banditos themselves. The banditos have done their part however, creating these new anchor babies. 800,000 people who can now create (or rather procreate) American citizens, thus strengthening their ties to their illegal country. Obama’s EO allows these “children” to come out of the shadows. Vote. They can become part of the system. Vote. Who knows, maybe they could even vote?

Further, the Emancipation Proclamation did not itself outlaw slavery, and did not make the ex-slaves  citizens. Again, neither does Obama’s EO outlaw illegal immigration , nor does it make citizens of the 800,000 children of banditos, citizens.

Like the Emancipation Proclamation was a roadmap to citizenship for slaves of African descent, such is Obama’s EO a roadmap to citizenship for slaves (see above definition) of Mexican descent.

The outcome

Obama hopes to be the deliverer of millions of Mexicans’ votes, and like Lincoln had the Union army, so shall Obama have his public service union army and other Occupiers who will march against the Right to allow Mexicans their fair shot at the American Dream of joining the unions and the Democratic Party.

How dare the Republicans fight against the rights of non-citizen criminals? The time for legalized illegal immigration is upon us, and like the passage of the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery, it’s time to outlaw illegal immigration, everywhere!

Then, as the roadmap of the Emancipation Proclamation did with the 14th Amendment, these newly legalized illegals should get the right to vote. The Left’s only hope is this happens before Nov 6, 2012.
