Republicanism - Morgan Freeman driving

In celebration of the Republicans freeing black people 150 years ago, my team has created these tributes to the Republican Party. These are also a reminder that Democrats did all they could to keep black people in slavery. Be sure to pass this along to a Liberal and ask them their thoughts!

Are the same republicans that “freed” black people over 150 years the very same that refused to vote for the civil rights act of 1968? Are they also the very same republicans that let a former grand wizard of k.k.k (David Duke) run and hold office as a member Louisiana’s house of rep. in 1992. Or perhaps their very same republicans that continuously try and subvert all minority rights, then simply explain it away with attention grabbing headlines that have little to do with truth… like you just did. I guess you missed that part of your U.S History class that included the Gilded Era,World War I, and World War II, and all the political party migration that took place between the two parties, during those years in between 1865 and 1968

    • Jesse Randall

Perhaps you should do more research yourself. For one the southern democrats are the ones that were adamantly against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Secondly the blacks in Louisiana were the ones that voted David Duke consistently ran as a democrat and only ran as a republican in a special election where his opponent Treen the brother of the former Governor was endorsed by everyone, Dukes was elected by the blacks since he prevailed on them and promised to end bussing that took their children so far from their homes. Don’t drink the tea.

Gilded AGE! nor era. MIGRATION of parties ugh…do you mean the creation of the progressive movement in the early 1900’s or did you mean the expansion of the libertarian movement in the 1800’s. Are you confusing political ideology with political party? Can you even begin to support that passive voice blanket statement triviality you vomited up? Lets start with the 1st grade edition shall we? Who, What, When, Where and Why ,make your arguments answering those basic questions and you may be worth talking to. Oh and lastly, my uneducated friend: here is the vote count for the equal rights bill of 1964 The original House version:

      Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7–93%)

      Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0–100%)

      Northern Democrats: 145–9 (94–6%)

      Northern Republicans: 138–24 (85–15%)

      The Senate version:

      Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%)

      Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%)

      Northern Democrats: 45–1 (98–2%)

      Northern Republicans: 27–5 (84–16%)

      • http://www.facebook.com/christine.bratton Christine Bratton

That was the votes by region only-not the full votes:

        The original House version:[16]
        Democratic Party: 152–96 (61–39%)
        Republican Party: 138–34 (80–20%)

        Cloture in the Senate:[17]
        Democratic Party: 44–23 (66–34%)
        Republican Party: 27–6 (82–18%)

        The Senate version:[16]
        Democratic Party: 46–21 (69–31%)
        Republican Party: 27–6 (82–18%)

The Senate version, voted on by the House:[16]
        Democratic Party: 153–91 (63–37%)
        Republican Party: 136–35 (80–20%)

Notice it’s the Republicans supporting the bill; the same goes for women’s rights-Equal Pay Act 1963.

Just so you learn the Truth Adam it was not the Republicans that voted against the civil Rights act of 1968. It was the Democrats whom did it and spread the word and even put it into history books that it was the Republicans. People were also subjected to listen to lies that the KKK was started by Republicans. Yet again that is not true the Democrats hated the Black people and started that group. Yup The KKK was started by the Democrats. Do you know how I know that?? MY Grandma showed the original History Books where it did not have the lies the Democrats made up years later and put in even my history books. My Grandma she is dead now God Bless her cause she warned me of voting for a man whom would say the word Change and all he wants is to take your change. So I promised her that I would Never Vote for Him. I voted for McCain cause to my suprize yet again MY Grandma she was right. I had thought that I would never see someone running for President say that. Yet Obama said it and in that she was right he would not say what Kind of change. I was 14 when she told me that and almost 15. I Kept MY Promise. By the way I was born in 1968 and during Martial Law in Chicago.

Oh and Learn that Unions are Bad they murdered My GrandPa when My Dad was 13. Another bad sign also of a president is when he is for Unions. They still keep teachers in whom are pedifiles and they also pay them to sit in a room and do nothing. Yup that is how good Unions are. Don’t arrest them keep them on.

Well Adam, while you were quiet, you only appeared stupid, then you opened your mouth and removed all doubt. Republicans PASSED the 1968 Civil Rights Act in opposition to progressive liberals! You need to do some serious research as you have been drinking all that poisonous Kool Aide. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. Martin Luther King was a Republican. I use ‘Republican’ lightly. They were Conservatives. Conservatives have been fighting FOR the rights of all individuals. Not for ‘special interests’. One idiot in 1992 does not a Conservative move or history change make! And let’s talk McCarthy while we are at it. He tried to tell us that communists were infiltrating and subverting our government and our country. Progressive liberals laughed and called him names. Now, we have 80 registered, card carrying Communists in our Senate and House of Representatives! We have liberals trashing our 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 10th… Amendment rights.. and that is just a partial list!!!

The truth is, while Conservatives were trusting and asleep at the wheel thinking this could never happen…. the liberals have successfully brainwashed our children with LIES. History books and curriculum’s changed to suit their fantasies, no longer depicting the truth. The thought police have arrived. Liberals who want to shove their ‘theories’ down our throats while throwing ‘Conservative theories’ out the window as ridiculous! No more theories, let’s stick to the honest to GOD facts.

I believe the Republican party was originally the ‘black party’.

It’s people like you, Adam Weatherall, that are the problem with our country today.

Liberals ‘bought’ the black vote with handouts, propaganda and cheap lies.

Right – people seem to forget that! Sad.

The last widely-known, outspoken person who said that was killed. By the government, is the word now. You might remember MLK…?

      :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/luis.berrios.18 Luis Berrios

It seems that Adam conveniently forgot about one Robert Carlyle Byrd, senator-West Virginia, who was a senator for like, it seemed, a 100 years, More important to byrd, he was a proud, card carrying grand dragon of the kkk; yes adam, go back and get your GED, but this time, pay attention!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=606943433 Ken Graves

Adam, Jimmy Carter as the sitting US Dem Pres with a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate could not get enough votes to pass MLK as a National Holiday.

Then when Ronald Regan became Rep Pres, he had one side of Congress Rep and one side Dem and he was able to get MLK passed as a National Holiday. Senator Jesse Helms, a Democrat from North Carolina, held a filibuster against the bill but failed in his attempt. Reagan later said, “This year marks the first observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as a national holiday. It is a time for rejoicing and reflecting. We rejoice because, in his short life, Dr. King, by his preaching, his example, and his leadership, helped to move us closer to the ideals on which America was founded. . . . He challenged us to make real the promise of America as a land of freedom, equality, opportunity, and brotherhood.”

and Dr.King was also a republican,he knew the truth.

It is insanely ridiculous how little liberals know… which is why they keep on voting in the people who want to hold them down! Talk about oppression…. And then blame it on the Republicans. It MUST be the Republicans! It couldn’t be the idiots those liberals who refuse to educate themselves on, that are responsible. Liberals prove all the time that though they have the right to vote, they don’t have the brains!

    • Elaine

Well said Kimberly. It is ironic that liberals always think they are the smartest people in the room. They also rewrite history to suit their reality. But, they know that at least “47%” will believe them. (Romney was right).

Did he think Lincoln was a Democrat or liberal??? He should have paid more attention in U.S. History class in school??He also should be grateful to Republicans in the north who took on the south to free the slaves, because it was Republicans who really believed that all men were created equal, and Republicans were the driving force behind the civil rights act!!! Al Gore’s father was a huge opponent of the civil rights act,and I bet he voted for his son,Democrats use Black people for votes, and then never do anything for them once they win!! Even a black President,Obama, has done the same thing, what is it like 13.9% unemployment among Black people, now that’s ignorance,to vote and promote a party that takes you for granted!!Get your facts straight before you open your mouth Freeman.I expected more from a guy who was on the 70’s education show “The Electric Company”!!
