I am not Catholic, so it really doesn’t matter to me…. However I heard that he is a big advocate of Social Justice, so that makes me leery… Sure hope he is not like the libs here.

    • Jeff-Bob

I’m not Catholic either, although I went to a Catholic high school. All Popes are advocates of social justice (it’s kind of a job requirement), but some are less liberal than others. Fortunately, Popes don’t make/pass laws. I do, however, wish him luck. He has an uphill fight ahead of him; he needs to show that the safety of his parishioners comes before the institution of the church.

Pope Benedict showed that the safety of his “parishioners” came first, but since the media only reports on the bad stuff — NEVER what is done to correct it — nobody noticed.

        • Jeff-Bob

All I heard was that he continued the previous policies of shifting priests around. As I said, I’m not Catholic, and don’t follow much of the Church’s activities.

According to Bella Dodd, a leader of the Communist Party of America (CPUSA) in the 1930′ s and
1940′s, the CPUSA had 1100 CPUSA members become Catholic priests in the 1930′s.
There are many sources for this info, but here is one: http://www.gnosticliberationfront.com/bella_dodd_school_of_darkness.htm

        • Jeff-Bob

That might be, but it’s a little off-topic. Do you have any evidence that the practice is currently on-going?

          • http://www.facebook.com/robbin.patriot Robbin Patriot

How is it off topic when you were talking about “social justice” and the church? I am telling you where that began.
But if are you asking evidence of how this happened? There is info about Bella Dodd all over the net, for anyone interested in knowing more about her.

As for evidence that it is going on…….just look at how the church is being run, and things that are going on: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/04/20/nuns-gone-wild-vatican-chastises-american-sisters.html

Just about every Catholic church is promoting “social justice.” As a Catholic I am totally disgusted by this.

I am excited for the Church

He’s a fantastic man, committed to simple holy living, serving the disabled and protecting the unborn. He will be a pope that understands human dignity, maybe the left will see this. The left will try to claim him but his strong stances on family and marriage will infuriate them and be a good example to all of where social justice starts with family, local community and holy living.

My guess is he likes little boys, just like some of the others.

I think all that’s going on in this country is making me suspicious of everything. I wonder why after all these 100′s of years they decided to go with an “outsider”? Just watching on the news that Latino numbers in the church are way down and this should get them back in the church. I guess everything’s politics.

Could it be that this is the man The Lord wants to represent Him on earth at this time and steer the barque of Peter, our holy Mother the church. Reading some of these comments amazes me that there are so many narrow minded, judgemental,
Unkind people in this world. I suppose it’s no different than the times when our Saviour, Jesus lived. No matter how much good and miracles Jesus did for the people they still turned against Him. Why don’t you all just leave our new “PaPa” alone and let him do this tremendous task of leading the church without prejudging him. May God bless our 266 successor of St. Peter as he seeks God’s guidance to lead us.

You are the one thats narrow minded. You can”t see the forest for the trees. Once you are out of the forest you can see the real story.Wow I can tell you have”nt researched 266 successers!

      • Lulu

Just FYI Marie, I never said I disliked the new Pope, nor did I say he wouldn’t do a good job. I am not in the least narrow minded, judmental, or unkind. (That seems to be something you’re pretty good at though.) I was simply making an observation based on something I saw on the news.

He asked for our prayers as he has a very serious and holy calling. Let us support him and wish him well. Only bigots will have something nasty to say Ethel! Judge not lest you be judged. A good thing to always remember.

This guy, although of Italian ancestry, comes from a region(from our southern border all the way down to Tierra del Fuego) with a pre-church history of collectivism–clan or tribal. Hence, in my opinion, the propensity toward socialism/communism. Not to mention their bizarre melding of christianity and paganism. For example, many of the Christian Saints are blended with their old pagan gods, and many Christian Holidays are celebrated concurrent with pagan ceremonies or festivals. So, even though the overwhelmingly profess to be Catholic, they are, at the same time pagans. It’ll be interesting to see how he addresses this ambiguity.

  • theoldguy44

He is a defender of traditional marriage and he’s advocated against gays adopting, plus he’s against abortion. That alone makes him good with me. I’m a Conservative Catholic and my moral compass is comfortable with his views.

  • Bob1893

Another old guy ( one lung) with one foot in the grave. At his age internal organs start to work at diminished capacity. By the time he is eighty he will probably have to be on a portable respirator to get around. Lets hope not. Beyond that, he is hard core as Popes should be.

  • GrizzlyIX

If he’s truthful, unlike Grand Poobah Obozo, he just MAY be a Pope we can LIVE with. . . . .

  • GrizzlyIX

    First & FOREMOST, He’s Bibliclly ANTI-FAG! ! ! !
