America has gone from establishing democracy in Iraq to rescue missions.
That’s what happens when you have a boy trying to do a man’s work.
With Obama in charge, you can expect to see more of this:
Barack Obama’s foreign policy is like watching Barney Fife on Mayberry RFD. Remember the episode where Barney had to use his gun, and the gun shook like he had Parkinson’s, and he kept dropping bullets. Compared to Obama, Fife showed competence.
As described here:
Elite American forces flew into the heart of northern Iraq’s refugee crisis on Wednesday to begin mapping a rescue operation that could represent the most significant use of U.S. military power in Iraq since President Barack Obama pulled combat forces out of the country in 2011.
Under tight security, more than a dozen members of U.S. special-operations forces spent nearly 24 hours in the Sinjar Mountains, U.S. officials said, acting as the vanguard of an effort exploring ways to rescue thousands of refugees who have sought sanctuary from Sunni extremists in this desolate mountain range.
The Americans are part of a 130-member team sent to northern Iraq on Tuesday to develop possible rescue plans that could be presented to Mr. Obama within days, officials said.
I’m sure most people have no idea what this humanitarian effort will cost, but you can bet that we will need to do more. Not only more in this situation, but more humanitarian efforts around the globe.
As the saying goes, “It’s a lot easier to stay in shape than to get in shape.” And it would have been cheaper in the long run to keep our troops in Iraq.
A bounty has been put on the head of all American citizens.
