Chicago may be called The Windy City, but it is most certainly The Crooked City.

When it comes to corruption, Chicago takes the cake. And that’s saying a lot, given all the other large urban indoctrination centers run by Liberal Democratic crooks.

So when I learned of the crony capitalism in schools, I was not surprised. As it turns out, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett pled guilty to corruption charges. Byrd-Bennett had been hand-picked by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to lead the nation’s third largest school system in 2012, until she took a leave of absence in April of this year. Her leave coincided with a federal investigation into her shenanigans. Byrd-Bennett ultimately resigned in June.

According to an article in ABC Chicago affiliate Eyewitness News:

“Facing 20 fraud counts, each of which carried a maximum 20-year prison term, Byrd-Bennett pleaded guilty to only one count under the agreement; the others were dismissed. The government will also ask for a lighter sentence in exchange for Byrd-Bennett’s cooperation in other unnamed cases, according to the deal.”

Because Byrd-Bennett was willing to name her co-conspirators, she now faces a maximum of 7 ½ years in prison, according to The Chicago Tribune:

“The 66-year-old onetime New York City elementary school teacher faces up to about 7 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to a single felony count of wire fraud for steering multimillion-dollar no-bid contracts to a former employer in exchange for the promise of up to $2.3 million in kickbacks.”

My bet is that she won’t serve more than a year, as Emanuel or Obama will come to her rescue. In fact, she could end up heading the Department of Education if America were stupid enough to elect say Hillary Clinton.

Teachers in Chicago however, were outraged.

CPS teacher Audrey Davis made sure she attended the sentencing, according to the ABC Eyewitness News article:

“’I got here on time to make the case that she has done damage to all of us teachers, students, all of us. I’m appalled,’ Davis said. ‘I’m outraged and appalled by the fact that I spent several years trying to get text books and resources for my 12th grade students to get them college ready. The text books we were using were 15 and 20 years old. And when I learned about this contract, I can’t help but be outraged.’”

Liberals preach about transparency, and this woman got the entire Chicago school board to approve this contract. They are all complicit, and no feigned outrage will convince me otherwise.

Further, this incident is not isolated. Corruption in Democratic-controlled cities is rampant. School districts in these cities receive enormous amounts of federal aid and yet the education the kids receive is sub-par. But don’t think these blood-sucking Liberal parasites won’t ask for more money, and use America’s children to continue to further their personal bank accounts.
