France Shuts Down Another Mosque Linked to ISIS

The French are taking the threat of ISIS a lot more serious than the U.S. government following the Paris attacks, where 130 people were massacred by radical Islamic terrorists.

Shortly after the attack, President François Hollande declared the attacks an “act of war.” He received parliamentary approval to impose a 90 day state of emergency, which are set out in a 1955 law and are designed to be used in “cases of imminent danger resulting from serious breaches of public order, or in case of events threatening, by their nature and gravity, public disaster.”

As a result of the “act of war”, the French began a crackdown on radical Islamic terrorism has resulted in 2,235 searches, 263 arrests and 334 weapons seized, including 34 military-grade weapons.

Most intriguing about the French response is their response to mosques.

Three mosques have been shut down for showing a pattern of radicalization. The most recent mosque raided resulted in seizures of weapons and ISIS propaganda videos, as reported in France24 News:

“Kalashnikov ammunition and Islamic State propaganda videos were seized in raids following the closure of a mosque in the Paris suburbs, French authorities said Sunday.

The prayer hall in Lagny-sur-Marne, around 30 kilometres (18 miles) east of the capital, was shut down last Wednesday following a large-scale police operation.

Associated with the traditionalist Salafist branch of Islam, it is the third mosque in France to be closed after the coordinated jihadist attacks on Paris on November 13.”

The article also points out that revolvers (illegal in France) and jihadist documents were found during searches at the homes of the mosque leaders. Police also found recordings of religious chants “glorifying the martyrs of jihad linked to the terrorist organization Jabhat al-Nusra”, the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda. The recordings were found among teaching material for children in religious schools.

Europe should deem this “hate speech,” and they have strict laws when it comes to hate speech. It was the hate speech engendered in these mosques that led to the death of 130 people in Paris, and thousands of others around the world.

It is for this reason many people of all countries proclaim that mosques are not religious buildings, as many in Europe and the West seem to believe. Mosques, unlike churches and synagogues are more like community centers, and quite frankly terror planning locations for Muslims. Yet America is building mosques at an alarming rate. The fact is, America needs to be curtailing the expansion of Islam, not furthering it.
