For shame, American taxpayers for wanting people receiving your hard-earned money to be drug-tested.
Lord knows that America;s poor don’t have a drug problem. Moreover, shouldn’t we just trust our poor, instead of requiring them to be drug-tested? America’s poor certainly wouldn’t take advantage of the taxpayers, like the mean rich people in America, now would they?
Sure, you hear about EBT (welfare) fraud, where drug dealers are in possession of hundreds of EBT cards. But the drug dealers merely happened upon the EBT cards. They got them when the EBT card truck turned over on the interstate. America’s poor are too busy looking for jobs and eking out a living, to consider fraud in welfare to make ends meet.
Which brings me to former welfare queen turned Milwaukee congresswoman Gwen Moore. Now that she’s hit the crackhead lottery, she says it’s the rich who need to be drug-tested.
Milwaukee congresswoman Gwen Moore, though, is “sick and tired, and sick and tired of being sick and tired, of the criminalization of poverty” she said in an interview on Wednesday. And, she added: “We’re not going to get rid of the federal deficit by cutting poor people off Snap. But if we are going to drug-test people to reduce the deficit, let’s start on the other end of the income spectrum.”
Moore plans to introduce a bill on Thursday that she thinks will even the playing field or, at least, “engage the wealthy in a conversation about what fair tax policy looks like”. The bill, called the Top 1% Accountability Act, would force taxpayers with itemized deductions of more than $150,000 – which, according to 2011 tax data compiled by the IRS, would only be households with a yearly federal adjusted gross income of more than $1m – to submit to the IRS a clear drug test from a sample no more than three months old, or take the much lower standard deduction when filing their taxes. (In 2016, for comparison, the standard deduction for single people or married people filing separately is $6,300.)
Just so we are clear, this dumb-ass Liberal wants people who have worked hard and finance the lives of other Americans to be drug-tested to get THEIR money back. This goes to show you just how distorted the Left is.
This woman apparently doesn’t understand that all money belongs to the taxpayers. When a person gets a “refund,” it’s their money being returned, as it was their money to begin with.
In what amounts to extortion, the government confiscates our money, then makes us prove that we should get it back. And these Leftist morons always get it wrong, because they are used to be on the public dole.
When did America go from being a country where people strive to do better?
