Trump has reached another group that historically goes for the Demoncrats in record numbers. It seems the LGBT community is gravitating to the Trump train.
The LGBT community may very well be taking a more serious look at Trump and quite frankly “conservatism” in the wake of the vicious murder rampage by the home-grown, Obama-Clinton-sanctioned Muslim terrorist who killed 49 people and wounded 53 others.
Exit polls from the 2012 election found 76 percent of voters who identified as gay voted for Obama, Romney receiving only 22 percent. In 2014, a gallup poll showed more than 60 percent of LGBT voters identified as Democrats, an unlikely shift downward. However by May 2016 a poll found 84 percent of likely LGBTQ voters preferred Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.
Those numbers will likely shift, as unlike most Republican candidates, Trump is not seen as “anti-gay.” Further there is the Obama economy that is impacting even the most successful Americans negatively, and this includes the LGBT. However the biggest bump for Trump could come as a result of Orlando.
While many other Republican politicians failed to acknowledge the LGBTQ community in their reactions to the Orlando shooting, Trump made it a point to reach out to the community in a speech about national security just a day after the attack.
“Our nation stands together in solidarity with the members of Orlando’s LGBT Community…an assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want, and express their identity.”
This is what America is about, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Muslims are dogmatically against our founding principles, and gays are certainly beginning to see this.
I anticipate that the LGBT crowd will continue to get behind Trump. They certainly can’t feel comfort in a Hillary Clinton presidency. It’s a choice between getting more perceived rights, or allowing a mortal enemy within their midst.
Since Orlando, attacks by radical Muslims, and not just against gays. Only a fool would believe that they will stop.
