CNN wonders why they are no longer considered a reliable source for news, then their president trashes President Trump.
The media has become so biased that they no longer even pretend otherwise.
As the Reagan Coalition reported,
CNN President Jeff Zucker went on the record to state that his network’s anti-Trump news is “boosting” employee morale, and that employees can wear it as a “badge of honor”.
How long will these miscreants wear that badge of honor, if their ratings continue to tank. And President Trump will do them no favors unless they change.
The President actually made fun of the network for its failing ratings, saying that he was downgrading CNN from merely “fake news,” to “very fake news.”
“I would say that morale is incredibly high … They are not being intimidated, they are not backing down, they know they have my full support and it is a very exciting time, frankly, to be a journalist at CNN.”“If there is any issue, it is because they are exhausted. The pace has been nonstop, and it has not let up,” says Zucker.
Sure. And I’m certain moral was high when CNN began the layoffs in 2014.
Layoffs have hit CNN headquarters in Atlanta today. TVNewser has learned the network has cut 16 employees from the Image and Sound unit. This includes video editors and photojournalists. The division employs 450 people. An insider tells us at least 160 positions are set to change in some way due to new technologies.
Ultimately Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of CNN laid off about 10 percent of its workforce.
However, they weren’t finished, as there was the CNN layoff rumor mill at Reddit:
I work at Turner, and I’ve heard through several sources that more layoffs will be happening soon. Management is being secretive about what is going on. Has anyone heard about the extent of this round?
Apparently Zucker needs a distraction from the triage happening in his industry in order to improve morale. Because it’s not coming from the bottom line.
Regarding Trump’s attacks on CNN Breitbart reports:
The CNN chief did say he was “concerned” at first that the president’s attacks coming “on a daily basis” might hurt the network. But he claimed that there hadn’t been any harm done. He pointed to a recent study to make his case.
“There has been no diminution whatsoever,” Zucker claimed the study showed. “The CNN brand is as strong as it has ever been. Incredibly trusted. And we have seen no impact whatsoever in all those attacks on the CNN brand.”
“The demand for CNN is incredibly high,” Zucker insisted. “These are very good times for us, and the money is following,” he said, adding that the network is looking to make one billion in profits this year.
At the same event, Turner President David Levy chimed in that the network’s advertising is still strong. “CNN last year had its best year ever in terms of advertising,” he said.
Perhaps. But it’s interesting to note that as far back as 2010, FOX News was crushing CNN and all the other competitors:
This year, FOX News will likely make $700 million of profit–more money than CNN, MSNBC and the evening newscasts of NBC, ABC and CBS combined.
Things haven’t changed much, as FOX News continues to outdistance the other “media” outlets.
Jeff Zucker needs Donald Trump. Without Trump, CNN loses prestige and ultimately money. Let’s see how this battle royale plays out.
As for this pundit, my money is on President Trump.
