Videos Emerge: Barcelona Attacked by ISIL Terrorists

At least 13 are confirmed dead at this point after a van plowed into a crowd in Spain.

More than a hundred people have suffered injuries in another senseless terror attack.

Barcelona attackedSo far, it seems the driver is still on the run. However, police do know who the culprits are.

As the Guardian updates us:

The driver of a van that rammed into a packed street in Barcelona, is still on the run, Spanish police confirmed. There has been confusion on the driver’s whereabouts following two arrests.

Josep Lluis Trapero of the regional police of Catalonia, said one of the suspects arrested over the attack is a man born in the Spanish territory of Melilla in northern Morocco. The other, Driss Oukabir, is Moroccan.

The Spanish suspect was arrested in Alcanar, while Oukabir was held in Ripoll in northern Catalonia. Neither of them had any criminal record, he added.

Trapero also confirmed that police suspect a deadly explosion late Wednesday at a house in Alcanar was linked to the van attack.

Meanwhile, horrific videos emerging show the gruesome effects of the day’s events.

ISIL Claims Responsibility

ISIL once had a stronghold across Iraq and Syria. Since Trump’s election, ISIL has suffered major losses. However, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant put out a statement claiming the van-attack is a message from their organization.

As The Telegraph reports:

“The executors of the Barcelona attack were soldiers of the Islamic State,” Amaq said on its Telegram messenger account, without naming those it claimed were behind the attack.

Amaq said they had launched the attack in response to calls to target states taking part in the United States-led coalition battling the jihadist group in Iraq and Syria.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the attack was “jihadist terrorism” which required a global response.

“Today the fight against terrorism is the principal priority for free and open societies like ours. It is a global threat and the response has to be global,” Rajoy told a news conference in Barcelona.

ISIL will face a Global Response

The UK pledge to stand behind Barcelona and offer any support to Spain.

Prime Minister Theresa May said she is “sickened by the senseless loss of life in Barcelona”.

“My thoughts are with the victims of today’s terrible attack in Barcelona and the emergency services responding to this ongoing incident,” she said. “The UK stands with Spain against terror.”

The US joined the UK in pledging support. Trump is already committed to destroying ISIS, ISIL, and other terrorist organizations. In fact, Trump made strong statements on Barcelona’s behalf.

Furthermore, other world nations have joined in to denounce terrorism.

In Germany, the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel said they were thinking of the victims of the “revolting attack” with “profound sadness”, while French President Emmanuel Macron voiced “France’s solidarity” with Spanish citizens following what he called “a tragic attack”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called for the world to unite in an “uncompromising battle against the forces of terror”.

“We decisively condemn this cruel and cynical crime against civilians,” Putin wrote in a telegram of condolences to Spanish King Felipe VI.

Sadly, nothing can undo the attacks that unfolded today. However, Trump’s work to unite the nations against terror is paying off. This isn’t Obama’s America. Thus, terrorism won’t be encouraged. Furthermore, it will no longer be funded by American dollars. Frankly, terrorism won’t be tolerated.

Counter-terrorism

In fact, in the Cambrils counter-terrorism raid, four or possibly five terrorists have already been taken down by police.

Carles Puigdemont‏, the Catalan president, has thanked the police involved in the Cambrils operation “in these critical and tragic hours”.
