President Trump Puts NFL on Notice [VIDEO]

President Trump finally spoke out about The Kaepernick Effect in the NFL.

And he didn’t mince words, as the video below suggests:

President Trump appeared at a campaign rally in Huntsville, Alabama, where he was campaigning in a Senate race. And in quintessential Trump fashion, he threw America a long overdue curve ball. Baseball reference aside, the president commented on an issue plaguing sports, and particularly the NFL.

For too long sports has allowed athletes to use the platform for social justice. Unfortunately, the debate has been one-sided, and this even the meritocracy of sports has sunk to new lows with antics like that of Kaepernick. He has been joined by a handful of others.

Finally, America has a president who is a uniter, and he chimed in.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners,” wondered the president, “when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’”

And the crowd goes wild!

Trump went on to say that such an owner would “be the most popular person in this country. Because that’s a total disrespect of our heritage. That’s a total disrespect for everything we stand for.”

He added that if fans were to “leave the stadium” in response to a protest, “I guarantee things will stop.”

Don’t think America isn’t hearing what President Trump is saying. We had already began leaving the stadiums, and I predict another pitiful week for the NFL’s ratings.

Continuing with the NFL, Trump also discussed the league’s television ratings, saying they are down “massively,” and partially claiming credit for the drop.

As Trump did with immigration, trade, and Obamacare to name a few, he now puts the NFL in his sights. And if they were struggling before, you can bet they will struggle even more.

When Trump calls you out, the market responds. I’m not sure what impact Trump had on Target or Starbucks, but his words change things. And when you look at politics, Trump definitely has an impact.

When candidate Trump spoke of illegal immigration, calling some Mexicans “drug dealers,” and “gangbangers,” the Left went crazy. They accused Trump of being racist and xenophobic. But Trump didn’t back down, knowing that he is neither of the things he was called. Eventually, America spoke, elected him president and he continues his course.

Trump promptly began rounding up the very people he claimed were living here, thus drug dealers and gangbangers were rounded up and sent packing. Trump proved what he contended, and that endeared him more to his fan base.

The president did the same with trade. He pointed out the obvious, then proved his case.

With Canada, the president ended our lumber deal with Canada and began purchasing lumber from U.S. mills. With respect to China, the president killed two birds with one stone, as he negotiated for China to send coal back to North Korea, while purchasing coal from America. More recently, he got China to lift the tariff on beef, thus reopening that market to American beef producers.

As for the NFL, they have been struggling for years. The worst years have been the recent ones.

If they heed the advice of the president, I suggest their ratings would soar. I for one would immediately begin watching again.

Honestly, I didn’t need the president to chime in to adopt the view that I would watch the NFL if they dumped the progressive nonsense. But I fully support what the president said. And if making it appear that when President Trump talks people listen, then I would gladly join that chorus.

One thing is for sure, the president has a knack for knowing what the public wants. Few people have been willing to say what President Trump said aloud. As I alluded, things like his comment about firing players who don’t stand for the anthem are exactly the reason he got elected president. Straight talk, no chaser.
