Goodell: Everybody Should STAND FOR THE ANTHEM

Goodell: Everybody Should STAND FOR THE ANTHEM

It appears the NFL may finally be getting the message.

What began with one, Colin Kaepernick, grew to nine. Then the president chimed in, and the protest grew to estimates of 200. Thus, of the 1700 mostly black football players–around 950–only 200 kneeled.

The fans revolted and it showed in ratings, attendance, and revenue. Suddenly the number of kneelers dropped back down to 20, but the protesters added raised fists.

I lauded the president for finally addressing a couple issues. First, the lie of the kneelers. There is no reason for black players to kneel in protest of dead dope dealers and thugs who got themselves killed. Second, America is way past time to address the political-correctness running rampant through corporate America.

And does President Trump know how and when to pick a fight.

Trump replaced the Dallas Cowboys as “America’s Team”, as he stood for the anthem, the flag, the veterans, and the hardworking Americans who fund the indulgences of these thugletes.

Now we find ourselves where I predicted we would be. Because Leftists kept kissing the turtle (see video)

From The Hill:

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday that he believes “everyone should stand for the National Anthem.”

Goodell said the controversy over NFL players kneeling in protest during the anthem “is threatening to erode the unifying power of our game, and is now dividing us, and our players, from many fans across the country.”

“Like many of our fans we believe that everyone should stand for the National Anthem. It is an important moment in our game. We want to honor our flag and our country, and our fans expect that of us,” Goodell added in his statement.

“We also care deeply about our players and respect their opinions and concerns about critical social issues. The controversy over the anthem is a barrier to having honest conversations and making real progress on the underlying issues. We need to move past this controversy, and we want to do that together with our players.”

Goodell’s statement is not definitive.

Because he’s a metrosexualized woosie, he can’t just come out with NFL policy.

For example, Goodell could have said,

“If you don’t honor the nation by standing at attention for the anthem, you get an 8-game suspension without pay. A second violation gets you kicked out of the league for good.”

Had he done that, we have no controversy.

The article continues, offering Goodell even more wiggle room.

The commissioner said that the NFL has “worked to develop a plan that we will review with you at next week’s League meeting.”

Goodell said it will include items like a platform to promote the work of players on “these core issues,” and said the league will “continue the unprecedented dialogue with our players.”

NFL owners will reportedly consider a rule requiring players to stand during the national anthem when they meet next week.

“Everyone involved in the game needs to come together on a path forward to continue to be a force for good within our communities, protect the game, and preserve our relationship with fans throughout the country,” Goodell said.

“The NFL is at its best when we ourselves are unified. In that spirit, let’s resolve that next week we will meet this challenge in a unified and positive way.”

All of this could have been avoided. A firm stance, and the NFL could have started rebuilding its already faltering ratings. However, forcing the president to get involved hastened the leagues fall from grace.

Hopefully other companies take the hint of the NFL. America’s productivity suffered because of the Leftist policies implemented over the past few decades. It’s time the NFL remember the product. I suggest the same for the rest of America’s corporations.
