“How does a guy with degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Math become an author of political books?”

I asked myself that question quite a few time in writing my first book. I began The Big Black Lie at the urging of my blog readers. Two thousand of them said they would buy my book of I wrote it. They lied! I woke up one morning and said to myself, “You are now officially a book salesman.”

Becoming an author wasn’t planned, but if I was going to do it, I wanted to be a best-selling author. That is a difficult road, particularly when you self-publish. But I was raised to solve problems. My safety net of a fat salary was gone, and I had to do something. So my family cut back, and I hit the road speaking and selling books.

I am very proud of my books. I would enjoy them, had I not written them. I love the idea of taking something complicated, simplifying it, and providing a fun interpretation.

I now have six children: Four sons and two books.

I hope to have 100 children [94 more books, to be clear!] when it’s all said and done. I don’t fancy myself as the best writer ever, but I believe that my books are enlightening, and leave the reader satisfied. I no longer fear never having had an original thought. Writing certainly unleashed my potential. I believe the best may still be yet to come.
