@Mike - I don't disagree at all. I just find it a bit hypocritical that CA decides to legalize drugs, when they can't pay the bills.

My views on these topics may not be popular with you Kev, but here goes...
We're closing in on a $300-billion tab since the "War on Drugs" began back in the 1920's and they are no closer to winning it now than they were then. People like their vices and that's just the way it is.
I, for one, am glad to see California is trying to recoup some of those losses in additional tax revenue. Now legitimate businesses can open to sell, and collect tax on, this product and help give back some of this money that it has been draining from state and federal drug enforcement agencies.
Government regulation of prostitution will also clean that industry up and keep both the buyers and the sellers much safer. Pimps will quickly be phased out and replaced with bordellos (who will still be subject to local zoning ordinances) which will be required to keep books for tax purposes. Not to mention a reduction in lost tax revenue from all the arrests, incarceration and endless paperwork required every time a hooker is picked up by the police. Just look to Nevada for proof of this.
You don't have to approve, but you can't deny the big drain these two harmless and victimless "crimes" have had on the economies of every state in the union.

Unbelievable. Every time I think about Cal, I'm just floored by their ability to rationalize the stupidity.
And to DaSicilian - the fact that Arnold is a Republican is the first thing my Democratic friends point out when California Fools come up in the conversation while decrying the idiocy. Far be it from them to remember any other names.

Kevin said:

"These former outlaw professions are now considered noble enough for the government to not only sanction, but to participate in them."

The government has been screwing us for generations, so their taking up pimping openly is just their acknowlegement of this fact.
