He's right in saying that every piece of racist legislation that ever past and almost every racist terroristic attack that was ever inflicted upon black Americans, was initiated by members of the Democratic party. Few blacks realize that Dr. Martin L. King, jr. was himself a Republican. However, the tides of changed and it is today's Republican party that appears to be anti-black. My question is, when did this change take place? I contend that it was during the civil rights movement when President John F. Kennedy (who ignored Dr. King the first two years of his administration) became extremely saddened after veiwing television coverage of a racist man named Bull Connor (a Democrat) of Birmingham, Alabama attacked black demonstrators with his police dogs and high powered water hoses. It was when Kennedy's successor President Lyndon B. Johnson who referred to Dr. King as, "...that nigger preacher..." publicly repeated the black mantra, "We shall overcome" which brought about a change. All this led to the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, although I commend Mr. Jackson for his blog and his insight concerning the true history of racism in America. I would admonish him against the anger he seems to harbor against the black people of America his own race. He is in a sense blaming the victim.
