 //  Healthcare for the Healthy

Posted on Sunday, August 16th, 2009 by Kevin Jackson

Obama-Health-Care-59557

There will be a push to make my book , The BIG Black Lie, #1 on Amazon soon. I hope you will support me.

Obama made it very clear recently that the healthcare system he is proposing is for the healthy. That is the way, the only way he plans to control costs. If you are unhealthy, Obama may ask that you be “selfless,” and not get on the system.

I watched as Obama backed himself into a corner of his own construction when discussing his own grandmother. He says on one hand that the government is not going to counsel old people to death or make them offers they can’t refuse. He concedes however that the elderly and the terminally ill are responsible for a lot of the cost–cost is what he wants to control.

Using his grandmother Toots as an example, Obama squirmed while explaining that Toots likely should not have had her hip replaced, since she was dying of cancer and was 86 years old. Here was his comment:

I don’t know how much that hip replacement cost,” Obama said in the interview. “I would have paid out of pocket for that hip replacement just because she’s my grandmother.”

That’s where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues,” he said in the April 14 interview. “The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total healthcare bill out here.”

There is no hidden message here, as the message is crystal clear. Sometimes Obama is worse than Biden in revealing the truth, though he is sensitive to the idea not throwing Toots from the train. What he’s not saying is he didn’t want her on the train to begin with!

Obama would have preferred Toots take painkillers for three weeks, instead of have that expensive hip replacement. After all, she died only a few weeks later. But what if Toots had lived another year or two? Should she be kept in a drug-induced stupor or should Toots become Soylent Green? Only the government counselors would know for sure. Soylent Green: Coming to a supermarket near you!

But there was the “private option.” Obama said, “I don’t know how much that hip replacement cost…I would have paid out of pocket for that hip replacement…”

Therein is the problem. What happens when people can’t take the private option or can’t afford it?

According to Obama, now traveling on his snake oil sales tour, it’s a choice between (1) the mean old insurance companies, aka “The Boogeyman,” or (2) the benevolent Federal Government.

Let’s not forget what Obama recommended not too long ago for America’s best citizens—our veterans. In an effort to save what amounts to a rounding error on the nation’s budget, Obama asked veterans to sacrifice by using their spouses’ healthcare coverage. Transferring their coverage to…those mean insurance companies! When the idea was shot down, here is what Obama commented:

Look, it’s an all volunteer force,” Obama complained. “Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn’t compute.”

I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country,” Obama continued. “I wasn’t asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I’d have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation’s deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans.”

Here’s the wrap:

obama-health-careObama is telling us what he would do to his own grandmother, a woman whose funeral he didn’t attend, because he was campaigning. He has said with his own mouth, and with his own words that he wants a single-payer system.

Obama is asking you to make a choice between the insurance companies, organizations you can sue, where you have individual choice, or the government, an organization you cannot sue, and who has real-life examples of its efficiency and effectiveness, like Social Security, Medicare, and the USPS, to name a few. Finally Obama has told you the level of desperation he is willing to go to by cutting veterans’ benefits, and putting them where…on private insurance.

If we live long enough, we get old. At some point most Americans will deal with health issues. In short, we all join the 80% at some point in our lives. I hope I don’t have to witness the “selfishness of some of my fellow Americans,” when it comes to ObamaCare.

That’s my rant!

I never knew that Obama said that about our veterans. What is wrong with this guy? Keep up the great work Kevin. Maobama and friends must be defeated, the beauty of it is we can do it with the truth. We don't have to go Alinsky on him.

I truly believe Obama is on a fast track to over throw our government as it stands. If he can get the health care bill (1/6 of economy) though, and he has 41 czars now and still hiring (9 more coming) he has put a big dent in the way congress works. This has all been in the works for years with Soros and his cronies. We ARE ON THE FAST TRACK TO MARXISM. Remeber! these czars answer to no one but Obama. Un-Constitutional!!!!!!!

This guy is such a fool. Just because she was diagnosed w/cancer doesn't mean she was going to die. And it was her choice to do so not the governments choice!

Every Marxist knows that medicine is control central and for seventy years the liberals have clamored for socialized healthcare. There has to be stealth in regards to socialism because most Americans will reject it outright. It is chilling to hear Obama "thinking out loud" if you will about end of life issues in regards to the chronically ill such as his own grandmother in such a glib, unfeeling tone. Kevin you are truly in the pantheon of the great Black American thinkers, Sowell, Williams, Parker et al. Good company indeed!

According to Snopes, B.O. never made that comment concerning our vets.
Having said that I'll note it's a measure of the man's character (or lack of it) that makes this particular canard so believable.

Three years and five months to go. Wonder if we'll make it.

What a liar and a fool. I know that BO wouldn't had paid for that hip replacement because he hated her. He said so in his two books. She was the epitome of white racism in his eyes.

This man wants socialism if not downright communism. He basically said so when he tried to silenced his critics only to show his logic towards socialism by stating they were right in the sense that what we were criticizing is already happening, so his conclusion is to completely socialize medicine. I just wonder how many picked up on the logical deduction and gaffe. Given how our education system is against critical thinking, I doubt many since the lame stream media broadcast the statements.

His statement about our veterns tells two distinct attitudes. First, and most obvious, he hates the military. They go to war that the government declares and then he wants them to suffer the consequences by throwing them under the bus. Seems to be a lot of that going with Obama. Useful idiots, in his mind, are expendable. The other is his attitude about how to control costs with health care. By not providing it to those that need it the most. Men and women who bravely fight for their country and his attitude is to control costs by throwing them under the bus and blaming THEM for not incurring the cost of the government's action, rather we agree with it or not they are obligated to go, and to question their patriotism. The man makes me sick and shows he's downright evil. I guess if the secret service takes a bullet for him, his attitude will be, you knew the risks, now deal with it while he bleeds to death in the street. I wonder what more this man has to do to get the public screaming that America has made one big arrogant mistake already (anagram intended).

The wrap is this man want's to control every aspect of our lives and some. He's a pure Marxist at its worse. If he gets control of health care and gains absolute power of the industry, it's clear. Sick people need to do what's "right" and die. Injured people need to suffer. Only those on he higher end of value scale are to receive treatment. If this isn't the trait of evil, then we have gone through the looking glass and have made good evil and evil good. Right wrong and wrong right. We have then truly entered bizzaro world and that's one citizenship I rather not have.

I'm reposting this comment in the correct place. Somehow or another (due to this awesome new fancy website), I left my comment on the wrong post. Sorry, Kevin

Obama managed to drag up his poor Toots during his most recent "campaign" speech in Montana. It made me cringe. Poor woman.

As for that dang hip – I experienced the same thing with my Dad. He was 81 or so and had cancer and broke his hip. The doctors said either we fix his hip or he’ll lie there, get pneumonia, and die. With a hip fix we have a chance of more time. No one suggested he "take the pain pills!!"

Joe says:

President BO is the consumate Chicago thug, except that most of THEM would protect their own families at all costs…no matter what. How can we possibly be considering this ugly, amorally conceived health care plan?

Perhaps BO should take his own advise and take the pain killers himself. I know it will end my agony.

madmath1 says:
August 16, 2009 at 3:03 pm

Here's another element in his plan. Perhaps one of those unintended consequences. If he eliminates 80% of the costs, won't that lead to massive lay-offs in the only industry that has been recession proof so far? Well, at least they'll be covered til they need it. Hey, Government health care: Coverage you can count on til you need it.

"Obamacare" is for the healthy"!! Of course, and I have said that to so many people!!

My sister-in-law was trying to use her father as an example of why she wanted this healthcare. Her father underwent 2 transplants and was just a very unwell gentleman. I didn't have the heart to tell her what I thought would have been his treatment under this proposed system.

Frances DeMers Roach says:

I agree Laura, Adele, Pamela, Christine, Laura, and Cecelia!
Cecelia, how sad for your sister-in-law that she thinks Obamacare is the answer.. I wonder how many of the citizens of this country realize, that healthcare doesn't affect the government. They have their own health coverage, paid for by "Guess" who.. Maybe we should make them sign up for Obamacare and stand in line with the rest of us!

Off topic but I wanted to say I love your book. I just got it in the mail today after work, about 1/2 hour ago. Great read indeed.
You talked about talking white and I am glad you pointed out about country folk. You see as you said you saw them as white racists, yet it was you who had to hide the way you spoke when with many other black people. Racism is in every race. I am white yet my great great Grandfather was born a black slave. I have never understood racism. But then again I have 3 races in me and triple the nationalities.
I also loved you story about Uncle Joe piling his dish up at Thanksgiving. My Uncle Sonny did that every meal and then he would go back for seconds. The difference between the two was that Uncle Sonny was a thin man, Uncle Joe was well rounded. It goes to show we are not all that different from each other. We will all meet our maker equally. Well back to the book.

Obama is a committed Marxist/socialist. Everything he says and does confirms that. He applies enough fluff to seduce those who don't care to add 2+2. "4, 5? What the hell do I care. It's free."

I had to blog on the topic myself today. "Time to put her down. Can't pick no mo cotton."

off topic, your description of Bizzaro World is dead on to my description of todays America. May God save us from political correctness. One thing we all have in common is we are Americans, USA citizens. And just as our Constitution helped us find the injustice of slavery and the rightful justice that allowed ALL men and women to vote . The words "we the people" gave all people the right. I still have a problem explaining "all Men are created equal!?" Shouldn't it have said all people? Good read so far Mr. Jackson.

As the Congressional Summer Recess is winding down, socialist Democrats may be thinking that the worst is behind them when it comes to having to face their constituents and explain their support of socialized medicine, aka Obamacare. They are wrong. The tea parties are back and Obamacare has been invited to each and every one of them. The same groups who made the "tax tea parties" possible in April are organizing anti-Obamacare tea parties in all 435 congressional districts for this weekend. For information on the tea party in your congressional district visit, recessrally.com.

I'm curious what you found out about the comment. I would very much like to use this post as a reference piece in my own political rants, but have gotten to the point that I like to validate my references before posting them. There is enough mud on both sides of the fence at this point that it gets hard not to fall face first into it.

Aside from the potential misquote, excellent article – love your blog.

I'll do a little digging of my own as well, but was just curious if you had been able to validate it or something very close.

I just recently saw you on the Glen Beck Show. You seem like a very interesting guy and truth teller. Especially from an African American perspective. There has been this stigma for so many years that Black Americans or minorities can't be affiliated with Right. It just shows the true mentality of people on the Left. They view you as the "collective", the right fortunately looks at the "individual". At heart I'm a Constitutional Libertarian, however I think there are some flaws with their views, but they are healthy and help keep the Republic in Check, at least that is what Hope we still have. The problem we face as nation more than ever is the dumb downed brains, and our failure to understand our History. I've met people who don't even know what a Republic is. The reality is that their are maybe 30-40 million who think the way we do, we are outnumbered, but God will there is hope!! Your video on FDR is great.

Kevin,

Before health care reform is implemented the president and congress need to have
clinical trials, studies and tests performed for one year. Everyone in government would need to have their platinum health care benefits eliminated for 12 consecutive months. This way they can experience the healthcare reform that they are suggesting. Just like any drug company that needs to do random clinical testing with FDA approval (lol) with their product before they bring it the the public market and Just like Mercedes needs to do numerous safety tests before their new model is released etc.

A panel comprised of ethical-based integrity-based, value-based and high-net profit CEO’s would monitor the success of operating the new business aka healthcare reform.

Concerned Citizen says:

If Obama’s health care plan becomes law and employers are required to pay up to 72% of the cost, I can guarantee that two local restaurants will have to close their doors. That will put 65 people out of work. I do accounting for some restaurants and that 72% would add somewhere between $5-10,000 monthly to the bottom line. Neither of these businesses have made a single dime in profit in over two years – the owners being fairly well off, just keep funding the businesses when necessary and never take a damned dime out of the business for their own use.

I got into a mini-argument with a liberal once over this subject. I was asked “you mean you would rather your employees go without health coverage?” If keeping 65 people in a job so they can pay their rent, put gas in their cars and buy food for their children then my answer is HELL YES. Would I rather have a job and no insurance or be unemployed with no insurance…….damn simple answer for me.

Should either of these two restaurants be forced to shut the doors due to health care costs, the trickle down will effect a lot more that just our employees, i.e. the food vendors, the A/C repair man, the linen supplier, city & state taxes, etc, etc.

The majority of our employees are young (20-35) and all voted for BO. I dearly wanted to bitch-slap each and every one of them but I now pray that I won’t have to hand them their final paychecks anytime soon.

Mr. Jackson, shame on you!

Regarding BO’s alleged statement regarding Vets cited in this article… Did he REALLY say it?

NO.

Listen, I am NOT a fan of Obama, nor did I vote for him. But… THE TRUTH REGARDING THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE IN A SIMPLE 30 SECOND ONLINE SEARCH.

The comments you are quoting came from a SPOOF email that was generated in response to a comedy skit performed on a late night talk show.

Please tell me you apply more due diligence in your books than you do your blog??

I consider you an intelligent man – and intelligent men can make mistakes. But by this date, your article above should contain a disclaimer in red, so that others who might still stumble onto it realize that the comments of the President regarding Veterans is based on false statements.

Sadly, the average American today is factually challenged – IMO, one of the reasons Obama was voted into office in the first place. It does no good to feed the rumor rat, especially when the truth so clearly substantiates how far of course our country is headed.
