//  It’s Cool to be a Tea Bagger!

stl tea partIf you like what I do, then support this blog by getting others here, and by investing in my book The BIG Black Lie. The reviews are on Amazon, and I promise that if you enjoy my blog, you will LOVE the book.

At a recent gathering, Lloyd Smith, Executive Director of the GOP for the state of Missouri informed the crowd that the Obama team targeted red states in an unprecedented media and new media campaign. They were efficient and effective, so much so that they won every state that they targeted…except Missouri.

Recent national media coverage by Fox News of Missouri might explain why Missouri was able to withstand the onslaught of the Obama machine in 2008. It seems that Missourians are plugged in, as exampled by their taking Congressman Russ Carnahan to task at his recent Townhall Meeting. Carnahan’s overwhelming support [has voted 100% with Obama] of Obama’s policies, specifically policies on socialized healthcare and Cap and Trade are viewed in Missouri as the government’s blatant disregarding of the people. Carnahan’s Townhall was not to explore both sides of the issue as claimed, but simply to try to convince the people to accept the decision that he had made for us. Needless to say, what Carnahan thought would be a cake walk, turned into a food fight!

Senator Claire McCaskill has had similar misadventures for much the same reasons as Carnahan. McCaskill offers little more than an echo chamber of Obama policy initiatives. The Democrats have become so confident in Missouri that in a recent peaceful protest, McCaskill’s office called the police on law-abiding citizens, exercising their rights to showcase their views to McCaskill.

The protest was a desperation move on the part of Missouri conservative citizens, because up to that point McCaskill had refused to respond to phone calls, a petition with 10,000 signatures from SOS Ballot, email, or any other potential method of communication with her bosses…us!

The matter received so much national attention—negative press—that McCaskill had another meeting at her office. This was meant to be a show of force by the other side of the issue and was completely staged—prefab signs and paid shills. The event did not achieve what McCaskill had hope for.

Unable to gain the political upper hand from the staged event, McCaskill organized a third Townhall discussion. This time Democrat operatives sent out communiqués asking their supporters to attend. As they say, “McCaskill called for a Townhall meeting, and a Tea Party broke out!”

The very same Tea Parties that Obama said on Good Morning America that he, “didn’t know were happening,” Tea Parties that people like Janeane Garofalo claims are racist. These Tea Parties are starting to show their real effect on the American political system. Democrat strategists are no longer mocking the Tea Party movement, but are now trying to mobilize against it.

Apparently the budget cuts are hitting the DNC hard, as Tea Baggers typically outnumber even paid shills...

geometrically at these events. The Tea Baggers are not intimidated and are speaking out. Tea Party opponents are seeing people who look and act like them. There is no racial strife at these events, and I have yet to see one person I would define as an elitist. The Tea Baggers are just “Average Joe’s” who are speaking with passion on the things that affect their lives and the lives of their children. And their individual, uncontrived messages are resonating with the Left at these events.

Make no mistake about it, the Tea Party movement has the Left very concerned. Panicked is a likely better description. The Left tried downplaying Tea Parties at first, pretending that the Tea Party movement didn’t exist. They figured the Tea Parties would just fizzle like all things conservative. A few large events, followed by silence and inactivity. The Left figured the double entendre of “tea bagging” would be a negative, and the term “Tea Party” would fade from our lexicon. Eventually we would all go back to our mansions, jets, yachts, cushy jobs, neglecting our children—that’s what nannies are for. Ahhh, the life of the average Tea Bagger!

“Tea Baggers” have lost many of those 3.7M jobs lost since January. Many are feeling the impact of a $3.6T “stimulus” that has been anything but stimulating. We are seeing our money being spent on union bailouts and redistributed to many who simply don’t deserve it.

When St. Louis Tea Party movement organizers Dana Loesch and Bill Hennessey started this, they wanted a movement that would become grass roots, and remain entrenched at the local level. The warning to all bureaucrats was to be, “You work for us!” The larger events have spawned many smaller Tea Parties each weekend in and around St. Louis. Tea Bagger are from organizations like Americans for Prosperity, iheardthepeoplesay, Americans for Fair Taxation and many others, all uniting to say, “Enough already! Everything is not a crisis. Read the bills!”

Here’s the wrap:

tea_bag_squirrelMissouri is proving that “numbers do matter!” And the number of concerned citizens showing up to these Townhall meetings is rattling Missouri politicians, like McCaskill and Carnahan. This has spread around the country! Democrats supporting socialized medicine are cancelling Townhall meetings, because they can’t stand the heat. Here are a few examples:

NY: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi-erv1O2sU (hat tip: Ray Walker)
Texas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-gTJqU7VoU (hat tip: WND.com)
Minnesota: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8VU_dS_3OU (hat tip: WND.com)

Politicians (in this case mainly Democrats) are used to people just staying home cursing at the TV, doing nothing. Not this time, however. It’s cool to be a Tea Bagger.  And it looks like the rest of the country is following the lead of Missouri, the one lone Republican stronghold in 2008.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, people in America are doing their “ups”: Getting UP, showing UP, and following UP! They are saying to politicians like Carnahan and McCaskill, “Step in to my office…because you’re FIRED!”

That’s my rant!

Great!! I love seeing these reports, since it doesn't seem to do much in IL but we keep trying! Thanks Kevin. The little squirrel is funny and a bit a bit disturbing, lol!

You are so right! We need to vote them all out ( dems & rep) We need term limits
no more lifers. Let them go get a real job. Problem is most Americans have been dumbed down. When someone speaks the truth ( Palin) Americans want no part of it. I am thinking they like being lied to. You know HOPE! All tho I must say The movement is gainning speed, as they see more laws and interfernce in our freedoms

I think this is wonderful that people are gathering in big numbers and letting the idiots in Congress, particularly Democrats, that they are fed up with the ever-growing Big Government.

I am not a Palin fan but she has been made out to be the next best thing since sliced bread–she isn't. When she said they eat in Alaska, so we hunt I laughed out loud. What a completely stupid comment. I am vegan, I don't eat flesh and I am alive and well. Palin loves to hunt and she created a massive program to hunt down wolves and bears, including their young, in order for her and her cronies to blast caribou and other animals to kingdom come. She is a hunter, who enjoys the kill; honesty is more attractive. It is this type of dishonesty that I loathe about Palin. If that is what "conservatives" want to rally around it is pretty pathetic. I detest the fact that less than 3% of the population ( the amount of hunters in the USA) believe that they should compose all policy regarding America's beautiful diversity of creatures. That is not democracy. Being conservative isn't synonymous with being a hunter. Palin was not truthful about many things , but her followers, like those of Obama 's, can't bear to even imagine that.
Palin needs to read real history and develop some awareness. I am not impressed with her in any way. Palin speaks of abstinence but neither she nor her eldest daughter followed that. She made a fool of herself by consistently speaking about the bridge to nowhere; and I could go on.
Being a conservative both socially and fiscally, I will wait patiently for a real conservative to make their mark for the benefit of Americans that want a small government with an end to entitlements.
In the meantime I hope the Tea Party movement gains great momentum.

Kevin, the perfect rant to illustrate the gathering 'Perfect Storm'. We did hear Rahm Emanuel about "never let a good crisis go to waste". Recess is here and it's our turn to play. August may become my favorite month!
To the readers…… The Big Black Lie is a page turner – buy it! Then give that copy away to anyone who spouts far left wisdom and buy another.

@tpgow – I agree that the libs hate the truth. Like you, I am a Palin fan!

Kevin Jackson says:

@Ana – We disagree on Palin. I'm sure she doesn't hold the fact that you kill plants and vegetables against you, so let's all get along! There are many more things to admire about her, and I refuse to get caught up in "food politics." I grew up a hunter and later gave up the sport, as I noticed my food came pre-packaged, and I could get "already killed" vegetables, too! Look at the bigger picture, and don't get splintered on this, despite your obvious passion.

Kevin

One of the most important questions (other than "Do you want you family and yourself on this same plan?") that I did not hear in these protest's was "Did you read the bill?" I do not want a john conyers response either. That man should have a restraining order against him going within 5 miles of a government office. Here is the other part of the lloyd doggett protest video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8UjY3YDlwA

By the way, I enjoyed your book.

I am really enjoying your blog. I work in an urban setting, and I am often dismayed at the culture of victimization. It transcends race, this mindset, but I am often dismayed when a student declares that all people of his/her race have to think a certain way or only like certain things.

I just signed up for email updates, and I'm going to get your book for my birthday!

Kevin…book a great read…
Now not only are we getting blasted as fanatics vis a vis the T parties…but the lefty posts are espousing the same stuff when discussing the townhall meetings being held by state reps. The one held in Philly w/Spector and Sibelius was by all reports a blood fest. I saw some of it on the tube and the crowd was having none of the Sibelius/Spector rants.
Concerning Palin…while she has her faults…she is a breath of fresh air, to the extent that – she's one of us. I see her having tremendous impact on the 2010 elections (altho, by the looks of it…we may not need it). Not clear to me that she will run for POTUS, though. Rice/Palin in 2012. Not sure if country ready for 2 women…but I would see them together having the 'package.'

You would be corret. Here in Texas, the major cities and the southern border went blue but the rest of the state was red.

I am back from my overseas trip (at last). I had an interesting time in both the USA and Canada. Spoke with Democrats, Independents and Republicans during the trip. The talk on politics was inevitable.

The O-bummer support seems to be highest amongst teachers and ex-teachers, but not so defined amongst other groups. There are many who are still afraid to speak out, and in one case when on the train we closed the door to be able to speak freely about the situation. There were a few times when I heard people venting their frustration about the economic situation, but as an outsider I still had to be very careful about what I said because I was a visitor in the USA.

There is a really good chance that the TEA movement will continue to grow as people realize that there are plenty of other people who did not vote for Obummer last November and who are angry about the way that their reps are letting them down. The fight is only at the beginning right now.

Andrew says:

Kevin:

Every county in Oklahoma went for John McCain in 2008. So y'all in Missouri are not alone. Keep up the good fight.

Ana says:
August 4, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Kevin: Let's agree to disagree. Btw, "killing plants"??? Let's keep it real; plants and vegetables and beans etc. are not sentient beings; there's a big difference. My carrots don't cry out in pain nor do they bleed. This is not about food politics it is about honesty.
So I don't admire her and that won't change. There are other people I choose to admire.
I'll continue with my passion for conservative values and the other animals!!!

I still love your rants but we'll not touch on Palin. GOOD ENOUGH!

One of the reasons President Obama lost MO by only 4,000 votes is because Republican Saint Louis County Election Commissioners put too few voting machines in Democratic North Saint Louis in an effort to prevent North St. Louis Democrats from exercising their constitutional right to representation. Many folks waited over 7 hours to vote in these precincts. Many others left without voting. I interviewed an 18 year old female college student who waited over 5 hours to vote in her first American presidential election due to these shenanigans. This in the 21st Century, the year 2008, MO proved that numbers do matter.

Although I give my support, there is one thing that bothers me about the movement that I think can be harmful. People keep saying we have lost our freedoms but never can they answer me directly when I ask specifically what freedoms have we lost since Obama took over? Not a bunch of rhetoric and myths, just the actual facts. Exactly what freedoms have been taken from us?

well i must be a tea bagger lol! i dont like a lot of things in this government. there are a lot of corrupt politicians out there. you can buy thier vote if you have enough money. could be why there are so many problems now. i want to attend the next tea bag meeting in huntsville alabama but im not sure who to contact here , although i do know some here . i watched the news a lot this past year or so. i have fallen vitim to corrupt state laws already in tn have had my constitutional rights violated in the process to be honest im kinda fed up with talking . it does no good but thats niether here nor there .i want in and i want to make some noise. i serverd nine years in our armed forces and im not so sure i fought for the same thing i started out doing in the first place . once i thought i was fighting for freedom and rights now im not sure that was even right. i feel we need to stand on more than one issue tho. its not all about taxes…. there is a ton of things that need fixed
