Obama’s Nobel Farce
If you like what I do, please consider buying my Amazon Best Seller, The BIG Black Lie. It is the only political book on Amazon that is a 5-star!
Apparently Obama’s consolation prize for losing the Olympics is a Nobel Peace Prize. I would say that the Norwegians have lost their minds, if this award actually meant something these days. Nevertheless, I still suspect that ACORN International might have had a hand in Obama’s win…for nostalgia’s sake.
This much coveted [cough] award has been won by such notables as Al Gore, Yassir Arafat, Kofi Annan, and Jimmy Carter, to name a few. With a list like this, the Nobel Prize is a not a prize at all, and I would say is more like a punishment. It is an award to be avoided, like a Darwin Award or Blackwell’s Worst Dressed.
Presuming this award had any real significance, as it did in the far too distant past, why would the Nobel committee decide that Obama should be the winner in the “Peace” area this year? I have my theories.
First, Obama can run a decent campaign. His most recent “coup-paign” was so good in fact that he had dead people and Disney characters voting for him. That’s an accomplishment that would have any Liberal or Democrat anointing you “god,” and it certainly would have made Joe Kennedy proud.
Another potential reason for the Obama win is his prowess with the teleprompter. The Nobel committee likely adores that smug look Obama gives, chin up, head askew, as he reads his pretty words from left to right.
Now they say that Obama was awarded the prize for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” After all, Obama has talked of a world without nuclear weapons, as he did in this CNN piece:
“Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous legacies of the Cold War,” Obama said in a speech in front of a huge crowd outside the medieval Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. “The U.S. will take concrete steps. … We will begin the work of reducing our arsenals and stockpiles.”
And our latest Nobel laureate had this to say according to CNN for those who don’t heed his warning:
“The president said that the solutions will include preventing the production of more nuclear weapons, negotiating a new international treaty and strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. He warned that countries that break the rules will face immediate consequences, including automatic referral to the U.N. Security Council.”
One can only imagine what Ahmadinejad is thinking about this, as Iran continues working on their nuclear program. I’m sure he’s concerned that his hatred of Jews and stated goal of their obliteration, compounded with his need to destroy all Infidels might mire Obama’s award just a smidge?
The fact that Obama is currently fighting two wars, one of which he said he was ending apparently has no bearing on an award for “peace?”
His postponed meeting with the most peaceful man in the world, the Dalai Lama, could have reflected negatively on the award. Adding to the irony is the fact that Obama publicly executed a fly, something the Dali Lama is religiously forbidden to do, yet Obama gets a “peace” award.
Before we get too critical about all this, remember that Obama did free prisoners from GITMO, which had to weigh heavily in the decision to give him the award. He instituted “Lattes not Lashes,” as he eliminated “torture” of “enemy combatants.”
Why the Nobel committee didn’t just make it a “two-fer” and award Obama the Nobel Prize for Physics is beyond me. Obama has re-proven gravity with the American economy. His non-stimulating stimulus package proved that what was once UP can definitely come DOWN. Obama’s novel and clever use of the stock market to validate gravity was certainly worthy of the Physics prize, though I would have just sent him a package of Fig Newtons and call it a day!
The Nobel committee is very hush-hush about the selection process, releasing nominees’ name 50 years after the awards are made. So we are privvy to nominees who didn’t quite get the win. Here are a few notables: Adolf Hitler, Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin and Italian Prime Minister Benito Mussolini.
It appears that the Nobel committee has decided with the Obama win to right the wrongs of all these years, and finally include a Marxist communist fascist winner! Touché for them to come around to such “progressive” thinking! I can only imagine who’s next? Paris Hilton, Janeane Garofalo…Nancy Pelosi?!
Since people are determined to give Obama awards and accolades for things he hasn’t done, let’s just go all the way. Let’s give him a Cy Young for that sissy pitch he made to open a St. Louis Cardinals game. How about a Superbowl ring, since he once hosted a White House party for the Pittsburgh Steelers! And hat tip to Linda for pointing out that Obama should receive three Oscars:
Best Comedy “Biggest Joke Ever Played On American People”
Best Docudrama “All About Me”
Best Drama “Narcissism….A Love Story”
That’s my rant!

Awesome rant, Kevin! I was posting a “wtf” comment about this award on your last post at probably the exact time you were putting this up. I just heard on the Glenn Beck show this morning that the nominations had to be in by the second week of Obama’s presidency. Again, wtf?!?
I had no idea about those past nominees you listed. Wow. For it to mean anything at all this is a prize that should be awarded posthumously. (Didn’t Teddy Roosevelt get one right before WWI?) On the other hand, this year’s will make for some *awesome* tee shirts and bumper stickers.

Several of the people nominated but passed over for the prize included Simra Samar who risked her life in Aghanistan-even during the most repressive days of the Taliban-so that girls and women could go to health clinics and receive education. Another recipient passed over was Dr. Denis Mukwege, of the Demorcatic Republic Of the Congo who has spent his life trying to stop the sexual abuse and women and girls. Past American recipients included Dr. Martin Luther King. Fraudbama was nominated after serving for just two WEEKS as President. It’s a travesty.

“Apparently Obama’s consolation prize for losing the Olympics is a Nobel Peace Prize.”
The last day the elite could cast their votes for the Nobel Peace Prize winner was less then two weeks after Obama’s election. Meaning they had chosen him so long in advanced that it is ridiculous.
I have heard some liberals saying two things one sounds stupid the other sounds racist to me let me get your opinion on this. When discussing this issue and telling liberals that Obama was selected two weeks after his election so he didn’t even have a chance to accomplish anything yet.
I get two excuses back one is “he got the award because of what he plans to accomplish” which to sum up he pretty much has stated he wants to accomplish world peace. If that was enough to win a Nobel Peace Prize then every Beauty Pageant contestant should win it because they always declare they want world peace doesn’t mean they will accomplish it just that they want it same with Obama.
The second excuse I hear is “well this is the first black president of the free world so that is a amazing accomplishment” that sounds sooo racist to me. Are you telling me liberals think people with black skin need awards for accomplishing the same things as people with white skin?? It makes it sound as if it is a impossible task for a person with black skin to accomplish the same thing as a person with white skin and that they need a award for their achievement.
This is the new face of racism. Treating people with black skin as if they need awards for accomplishing the same things as people with white skin. Everyone no matter their skin color can accomplish the same things if they work hard for it and it shouldn’t come as a shock to people and people don’t need to be rewarded for accomplishing the same thing as people with other skin colors.

Yep. This is what I’ve been thinking all day. Not that it held much weight with me to begin with, but this prize has officially become a joke.
50 years from now, assuming everything pans out ok, here is how conversations will go (tell me if this doesn’t sound familiar):
A: “…you know, blah blah, she won the nobel peace prize…you have to remember her.”
B: “Nobel peace prize? Pfft. Was it pre-2009 or post-2009?”
A: “Pre. She got it back in the 70s when it almost meant something.”
B: “Ahh, so tell me more about what she has done…”
This award is like the Oscars (or whatever one they vote for each other on) for elitist intellectual liberal schmucks to pat each other on the backs.
Take a look at the so-called ‘winners’ of the past. Its like 29 out of every 30 is a useless piece of shite. Also notice the presidents that made that list. All of them democraps. These are the people who show up for the black tie parties to benefit some elitist museum while the rest of us are hosting Christmas parties at orphanages or working in soup kitchens, feeding the people that elected this dirtbag. Oy vey, what irony!

anyway… see the Nobel Peace Prize as the indoctrination of the NPP committee of Obama to ensure that Obama will make policy in accordance to the NPP’s ideals.
Let’s see what happens when Obama is forced with a difficult decision: the right decision vs. the NPP decision. If Obama sides with the NPP, he gets to keep his inflated ego. If Obama crosses the NPP… I wonder what will they do.

About Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Peace Prize and inventor of dynamite–”The erroneous publication in 1888 of a premature obituary of Nobel by a French newspaper, condemning him for his invention of dynamite, is said to have brought about his decision to leave a better legacy after his death.[2] The obituary stated Le marchand de la mort est mort (“The merchant of death is dead”) and went on to say, “Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday.”
So Nobel may have felt bad about his invention and came up with the Peace Prize to ease his guilt. And on Friday, October 10, the day Barak Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, America had a rocket blow up the moon to find water.
Ironic, you say??

FIGHT with All your POWER the CZARS in the White House and “President Putz” who believe: “Propaganda has only one object, to conquer the masses.” Obama believes Republicans and Conservatives are the slime that collects under his shoes, just another pile of s—. “Every means that furthers this aim is good; every means that hinders it is bad.” –a quote by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the writer of The Second Revolution. “Only in the hands of the political artists do the masses become a people and the people a nation.” Obama’s czars have one thing in common with Goebbels: they are all (minor) wizards of demagoguery and will with passion destroy the conservatives when their founder gives his (Jonestown’s) decree. With the capitulation of the Republicans in the coming weeks by Treasonist republicans on the Healthcare bill, the accession of Obama will give him undreamed-of power.
What got me involved in the movement, the ‘cruncher,’ was the day in early August when Dodd, Sibelius and DeLauro showed up at a small, obscure company in Hartford to address a secret and closed convention of hand-picked (Dodd) Healthcare supporters to set up a strategy. The company was called CT Commercial Maintenance Company, had 6 employees, and a President who was to head Regional Healthcare for the HR bill. Zeke Miller and the Hartford Courant wrote a dissipated article about “nothing” and refused to answer my calls and inquiries: (as) Why was this meeting closed to the citizens? WHY? No reply! The August 4th article by Miller in the Courant was a pg.9 one, and the editors wouldn’t answer my request: Why?
We know why!
The “why” is currently being back-roomed and obfuscated this week as the liars in the White House shift all their deals to the finance committees in Congress where healthcare is being hatched. Obama will bargain to gain valuable Republican Congressional treasonists as he hatches this gastly plan to reshape US society, negate its middle class culture, while completely isolating and destroying the Republican Party. For the most part: Society doesn’t care; at least 50%+ want to be spoonfed- with the Jim Jones Kool-(potasium cyanide) Aid. There will be no backlash from that body of human worms, who are the sheep that fed Hitler’s rise to power in 3 years from 30% – 90%. Remember always: “Those Who Do Not Remember The Past Are Condemned To Repeat It.”
We must remove political fat-cat liars like Senator Dodd from office. I will be supporting Tom Foley in his race against Dodd with every fact and figure I can find about that Thief in the US Senate. He can probably be defeated unless ACORN and its unions raid the state of CT. Last week he had Biden drawing up favor. Biden is just another Hermann Goering figure in the court of President Putz, but like the czars, he will play a large part in the piecemeal destruction of the Conservative movement in the coming days. The “Goebbels” figure in this Socialist state are the many czars who are removing the 10 Bill of Rights from our Constitution, and a free press which will “lap-dog” Obama until there is a Journalists’ Law (Nazi Germany – October 4, 1933) in the US which will make all newsmen (*Beck& Reilly&Rush will be under house-arrest if not dead by then) servants of the State and subject to license by “some appointed-Goebbels”. Decree will follow decree to prepare the ground for Obama’s war on capitalism and our Constitution.

Kevin, I’m eager to get your take on this….
RNC Chairman Steele’s response to Obama receiving the nobel prize:
“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain — President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”
I found Chairman Steele’s response to be derisive and counterproductive. I liked Senator John McCain’s response. He acknowledges, congratulates and yet still conveys the basic sentiment: now you have to live up to it.
“Oh, I’m sure that the president is very honored to receive this award. And Nobel Committee, I can’t divine all their intentions, but I think part of their decision-making was expectations. And I’m sure the president understands that he now has even more to live up to. But as Americans, we’re proud when our president receives an award of that prestigious category.”
Any thoughts? Your take on the difference between Senator McCain and Chairman Steele’s responses? Thanks!

The difference between McCain and Steele is that McCain is a sellout pansy who has turned out to be a liberal in conservative clothing.
I guess spending years in a prison camp (while I’m not degrading what he endured on behalf of our country) taught him to be able to ‘pretend’ to agree with the other side so well that he actually sits on the fence. What a shocker? Obama receiving an award from a bunch of liberal Norwegians for accomplishing exactly what in 12 days? As a matter of fact, what has the Dear Leader accomplished in 9 months?
Was it awarded for his awesome “jolting” stimulus that failed? Or was it his redistribution of wealth to pay his union buddies? His takeover of the auto industry? His lust for government run health care? Maybe it is his huge energy tax bill?
I think it is because he isn’t George W. Bush. Though Obama has kept much of the Bush policies intact, liberals tend to forget that little fact. They railed against Bush’s spending and applauded when Obama went on his spending spree that tripled the deficit.
Then again, maybe its because the Norwegians realize Obama wants to be more like Europe and really digs socialism. Either way, its all a farce. Rewarding someone who has accomplished nothing in 9 months. Way to go BO!

Now, FA, whatever your personal opinion of McCain may be…so be it, I’m not going to try to convince you otherwise.
But I do have two follow up questions for you both:
1) Would you agree or disagree that McCain’s response is more likely to be taken seriously by a larger audience than Steele’s?
2) Would you agree or disagree that the response issued by Chairman Steele makes it easier for democrats and liberals to dismiss the comment as simply an attack?
let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

You teach your kids to be fair; right? Why you think it is a bad idea to recuperate some of the things stolen from blacks? Next time you whine remind me to get you some cheese to go with it. Do you remember what was called back then-slavery. Give the negros some chance to catch up with you for those lost years and the field will be even again.

Are you talking about guilt? Whose guilt? Your ancestors guilt? Who robbed and killed many millions around the world to build their wealth? You thought, it wouldn’t come to hunt you right? For many years you had the negros living under sub-human condition. You didn’t whine then because ….who cares? The fruit of that sub-human treatment is the stupid rap self-hating music (which your white kids seem to love now), violence, welfare, fatherless children, prison and so on. Again, enjoy the fruit of your ‘hard work’ that kept many blacks from going for the american dream. So you know the problem is not inherent to blacks, just look how well other blacks do well when they come here. YOU made American blacks hate themselves and I invite to live with the consequences. Peace

I don’t know McCain, so I refrain from having a personal opinion about him. However, my political opinion on him, based on what he said on the campaign trail vs. what has done since losing the election can be catagorized as one thing: A pleaser. He sure didn’t try to come off this moderate during the election. Misleading for sure.
Now for the questions:
But I do have two follow up questions for you both:
1) Would you agree or disagree that McCain’s response is more likely to be taken seriously by a larger audience than Steele’s?
A – Agree (but don’t care what other people think)
2) Would you agree or disagree that the response issued by Chairman Steele makes it easier for democrats and liberals to dismiss the comment as simply an attack?
A – Agree (but again don’t care what other people think)
See, maybe I’m alone here (I doubt it) but I believe that just because the demo-libs (you identified them as 2 groups, when in fact they are one) want to dismiss chairman Steele’s comments as an attack, it does not in any way make his statements less true. If I see an insanely fat person and forget my manners and make a comment like, “Wow yer big as a freakin house!” Someone may dismiss what I said as “an attack”. BUT this does not make what I said any less true.
I want to believe that I am not alone as a fed-up American who catches one of these useless talking heads from the lamestream media “dismissing” what someone says as an attack (Think of the phrase “LIAR!”) and thinks….
“Wow, that might have been rude and disrespectful to the office of president of the US, but it is still true and I think the president should be required to answer to it.”
Obama did in fact lie on his campaign trail.
Obama has indeed accomplished nothing since he took office.
Obama does fill the airwaves with useless rhetoric and has not once backed it with action.
While the media may try to distract the public by calling these statements attacks, I and many many other American citizens want him to answer to us.
WE ARE HIS BOSS.
Anyway, enough said. His day in court will come. In the end it won’t matter. He’ll make millions on the lecture circuit and from books, so he’s set no matter how bad of a job he does.
let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

Hi Fa,
Thanks for replying, and here is my response to your “agree, but don’t care what others think” answer:
I respect that.
And, I agree with Obama having accomplished NOTHING and the peace prize being a complete joke. I mean…they gave one to that dead terrorist, Yassir Arafat!

Sean,
I don’t know what to say, dude. I didn’t call you a racist. I didn’t call you a bible thumper. I just asked a straight-forward question in hopes of facilitating a dialogue. You could’ve agreed, you could’ve disagreed – you chose the third option: crazy tangent. Good luck with that.
FA says:
October 15, 2009 at 7:55 am
Wow, its so nice to have intelligent dialog, even if its in the comments section of a blog. “I respect that.”
Take a lesson Proudhon and the other few ‘trolls’ that have been intolerable in here. That is how you disagree with someone’s thoughts or beliefs with class.
Jaceinaz, I hope you know that while I don’t care what others think, I also know that the media can spin things like Steele’s comments much easier in order to dismiss them as an attack. I also know that ‘neutral’ statements like McCain’s are more likely to be shown by the media as they are.
The question is, which one does more harm and which does more good. Unfortunately the answer is not scientific it is opinion and could be debated for days.
Lets just suffuce it to say, I think McCains does more harm than good. It draws more conservatives towards the middle and gives those left of center more confidence in their beliefs. To a democrat that’s good. To me, its harmful.
On the other hand, I think Steele’s comments ring true and are blunt and to the point. When hearing those, the same conservatives will typically stop and think, “Hmmm, while that was a little rude, he does have a point. What has Obama accomplished?” maybe even someone left of center might raise those same questions in their mind and draw more towards center.
To me that is a good thing. To a democrat, bad. So it all depends on your perspective, I suppose…..

On McCain. I’m learning alot by just reading here. Didn’t know him,but he always asked us to check out his voting record, and then, check Obamas. After what I see the voting public considered American values Presidential material, and see a more moderate MAC, yet all-American when it comes to protecting us, I still would have gone with McCain. Not the small Gov dream quite yet, but a Radical Leftist? and Co? Come on,,,

Nobel Dynamite
By Joseph A. Morris
“His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.”
- Nobel Peace Prize Committee of the Norwegian Parliament announcing the award to Barack Obama of the 2009 Nobel Prize for Peace.
It’s not about Barack Obama.
It’s about the United States of America and its role in history and in the world.
Excerpt:
The American Idea – a republic, e pluribus unum, of self-governing people, built upon the bedrock of limited government and the rule of law, in the civic life of which race, religion, ethnicity, origin, and class mean nothing, and in the private life of which they can mean as much or as little as people freely choose – is hateful to the “concept” of Oslo and therefore to the men of Oslo.
That’s the message of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

Jace perhaps reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I answered your question, but let me hammer it home for you.
“I’m not sure exactly why I should care about the “feelings” of a person[Barrackula] who is doing their level best to destroy everything I love, Jaceinaz.”
Shall I draw you a diagram?
Me = Libertarian
Barrack Obama = Authoritarian
ME NO LIKEY!
“Of course I’m just a “racist gut-toting bible-thumper” so who cares, right?”
THIS ^ was in reference to many MANY things “Dear Leader” and his supporters have said about people like me.
If that clear enough for you or do you need a slide show?

@FA, i “respect” the fact that you think this is an actual quote from ben franklin: “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.” but i “respect” history and the facts more. therefore i would “respectfully” like to inform you that ben franklin was not familiar with the concept “lunch” and that your quote is fabricated. i already noted this in an earlier post, but. as it turns out, that post was “respectfully” deleted by kevin.

hahaha….you crack me up, ph.
I never said it was Ben Franklin, I copy-pasted it from someone’s signature, so I’m afraid, it wasn’t me who ‘fabricated’ it. I thought it was clever.
Fact is, nobody knows for sure who came up with it. We just know that it wasn’t found in any of Ben’s formal publications. If it were indeed from that era, it is quite possible that it was ‘updated’ to be relavent to today. Who knows, again, who cares.
Thanks again for telling me something I already know!

fairnez, you are a joke. I had somehow missed your responses to the content.. person. Now that I have read them, I’ve come to the comclusion that, whatever your race, religion or politics, you are a complete moron.
You made a statement that actually cracked me up:
“Why you think it is a bad idea to recuperate some of the things stolen from blacks?”
You make it sound as if some white people sailed to africa and raided upper middle class neighborhoods, breaking into those 2500 square foot homes and stealing their posessions…and for good measure, lets make them our servants and make them till our land.
Want to know what happened? The demand for slaves in the middle east and europe provided a good income for coastal africans who would capture other, more primitive africans and sell them to europeans who would visit the ports. (the gold coast if you need help finding its history).
The people that raped, pillaged, whatever when they got to this country were spanish and french. take it up with them. I’m American. There was this group of americans in our southern states that would rather have slaves to do their work for them, so they purpetuated the slave trade. There were Americans who thought that was wrong (and they were correct) so they fought it and slavery was abolished. It took a long time and many generations to ‘clean’ out the mentality that blacks were inferior because they were black, instead of thinking, wow this guy has been denied any education, treated like shit, lived in a shack and generally treated sub-human (as you said). But look, he’s still standing here, working hard and finally getting paid for it. That is something to respect. most ‘white’ people I know would shrivel up and die given those circumstances.
Retard. get pissed at the correct people, please….
FA says:
October 16, 2009 at 3:01 pm
You think that “The fruit of that sub-human treatment is the stupid rap self-hating music “? Ha. If that were the case, why did it take decades to surface?
I say it stems from a choice. Be a victim and whine about ‘da man’. or BE a man and be responsible for yourself. someone ‘whined’ about their situation of drugs, vilence and whatever, put it to cadence and tada! Rap music. (there is a lot of sarcasm in there, so please don’t pick apart my music history)
everyone in this world wants money, comfort and love. Someone who has none of those and is in the same situation as the above guy sees that he can make loads of money and try to buy the other two and tada! another rapper. Somewhere along the line someone tried to give it history and meaning….give it hear and soul. The honorable Barry White would turn over in his grave. It is about getting rich and it works, so more power to them. Don’t make it about history. It ain’t.

I guess, ph, I have to spell it out for you. Ugh.
The quote was just that, a quote. I thanked Jefferson as a joke. I was poking fun at the way people (like you) believe everything they read, when it suits their needs.
I wanted to say I can’t believe I had to explain that…but then again…in the spirit of “calling people names and disparaging people’s intelligence”, I should have expected it from you. Moron.

let’s recap FA. your first post: fabricated franklin quote attributed to franklin. my response: not franklin, learn history. your next post: i never said it was franklin. my response: err, yes you did, http://tinyurl.com/ylhz9pd . your response: of course i said it was franklin, i did it to prove to you how dumb you liberals are.
if you put this much effort in *before* you wrote, FA, you might not have to resort to these logical contortions once someone w/ half a brain reads your posts. stop calling people names, you haven’t earned the right.
FA says:
October 23, 2009 at 11:46 am
once again you prove to us that ‘what you believe it more true than the truth’.
Yes, let’s recap:
my first post: A quote I think is cool/funny. Never attributed it to Franklin, but was poking fun at those who attribute quotes to the wrong people by ‘thanking him’.
(Just because you dont personally ‘get’ my humor doesn’t make it wrong)
Your response: not franklin, learn history.
My response: I know history. I know it wasn’t franklin. Added that nobody really knows who said it…I was poking fun at those who incorrectly attribute quotes. (i.e. it was a joke, mocking, ridecule, whatever you want to call it)
Your resonse: yes you did.
My response: Hello, it was a joke. (second time I’ve had to point it out) wake up.
Your response: Let me recap “my perception of what you said” to show you how wrong you are.
This response: How stupid can you be? Let me illustrate what just transpired…
Two people are standing at an unenclosed bus stop. It is 15 degrees below zero. They are both dressed appropriately, but not overdressed.
Person 1: (joking) Wow, its hot as hell out today, eh?”
Person 2: No, it is 15 degrees below zero. It is cold.
Person 1: I know it is not hot, jackass, I said hot, but I was joking. (and thought it was obvious based on the sarcastic ‘tone’)
Person 2: You have no ability to properly perceive temperature. You said it was very hot.
Person 1: I was joking! Did you choose to ingore that part or are you just stupid??
Person 2: You said it was hot. I said you were wrong. You said you said it was hot, but that you were joking. I said you were wrong.
Ahh insight into the libertard’s mind. If you say something, even as a joke, they will remove any context they desire in order to make you wrong and ignore all common sense and anything you say and beleive what they want.
I had arguements like this with an ex girlfriend of mine years ago…. she, like you, believed that her perception (i.e. they way SHE understood what someone said) trumped what the communicator really intended to say. Problem is, her listening comprehension was poor. No matter how clear I tried to make the meaning of what I was saying, in hermind it was whatever she understood it to be, typically to fit her mood/motives.
This is how you debate, ph.
Here is a tip to help you get along better in life: If someone says something and you clearly show that you misunderstood what THEY WERE TRYING TO SAY, be it a stupid joke or a implied meaning or whatever, stop. Listen to them while they attempt to recommunicate it or clarify their intent/meaning. Since it was something that originated in THEIR HEAD and the only reason you heard/read it was because THEY CHOSE TO SAY/TYPE IT, then they own, 100%, the meaning and/or intent of the statement no matter how you want to perceive it.
so, alas, at the end of this rediculously long response while I eat my sandwich, it comes down to this…. You didn’t get my joke when you first read it, so by the twisted definition of your mind, it wasn’t a joke…I was just wrong. Sad.
proudhon says:
October 23, 2009 at 3:31 pm
i’ve linked to your original quote in each of my last three responses to you (including this one: http://tinyurl.com/ylhz9pd ). have you actually gone back and read it and the context? on good faith, i just went back and re-read that entire thread (all 200+ posts — mostly people apoplectic over the fact that i dared to challenge them) and i have no idea how i, or anyone, could perceive what you wrote to be a “joke”. if you were “poking fun at those who attribute quotes to the wrong people,” then, to borrow your metaphor, you were the kook at the bus stop shouting non-sequiturs while others were trying to hold a conversation. it seems far more plausible that you unironically dropped a quote into the discussion to make a point about liberty being preferable to democracy…but i really don’t care. so, whatever you say. you were making a hilarious joke, and i am obviously not smart. can we end this conversation now?
