 //  Reid’s Dirty Jobs Gambit

Posted on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by Kevin Jackson

Harry “No Negro Dialect” Reid has decided to take money OUT of a government program! Now one might think he has finally regain sanity, however as with all lifelong Liberals, that’s just not possible.

What Reid is doing is Liberalism 201.  He is taking baby steps to get to where he really wants to go. Let me give you an example of how this works.

Years ago, Liberals decided to go after what they call Big Tobacco.   So they taxed the heck out of them. Who wouldn’t believe that taxing a “drug” is a good thing?  As a non-smoker, I was happy to see taxes that hit everyone equally.  A consumption tax, as it were.  Anyway, Big Tobacco responded by adding the tax to the cost of cigarettes, so for them, “No blood, no foul,” laughed Big Tobacco.

Big Tobacco 1…Liberals 0.

The Liberals decided that they would really get Big Tobacco, this time using the courts.  So they sued Big Tobacco, after discovering what people already knew…cigarettes contain an addictive drug.  But that’s not all.  The suits was brought because evidence was found that Big Tobacco was…improving their product.  They were trying to get people to want more of their product. How DARE they!

Like other companies, Big Tobacco released “new and improved” versions of their product.  This would be like the makers of Gain putting nice aromas in their laundry detergent—Intoxicating aromas, hypnotizing you to “buy Gain!”  How DARE they!

Big Tobacco was no different, doing what anybody in corporate America would do.  Since the government has sanctioned the use of tobacco, knowing the physiological consequences, the health issues, Big Tobacco did what the makers of Gain did…they put intoxicants in their products.

This was seen as obscene by the Liberals.  Big Tobacco actually trying to stay in business, improve their product, grow their business, and make a profit! Damn them!

So the Liberals sued and won—sort of.  While they were celebrating the demise of Big Tobacco, there were those celebrating more revenue for the government.  Meanwhile, Big Tobacco merely passed the cost of these lawsuits onto the public. “No blood, no foul!” laughed Big Tobacco.

Big Tobacco 2…Liberals 0.

Since the courts were not able to accomplish what the Libs had in mind, they changed tactics.  They started instituting smoking bans.  But they needed a boogeyman.  One wasn’t available, so they created one, and called him Second-Hand Smoke.

Second-hand smoke was a KILLER!  A notorious bandit that one, though not quite as bad as his more nefarious cousin…Global Climate Change!  And like global climate change, second-hand smoke statistics were just as “made up!”

Based on trumped up data, the Liberals were able to get smoking banned from Federal buildings.  States followed suit, especially Liberal enclaves like California.  Some states went further.

The Liberals next demanded completely separate smoking areas, and proprietors were forced to put in special ventilation systems.  They wanted “separate but equal” areas within restaurants, to protect the “little man!”  This was an attempt to get proprietors to just eliminate smoking altogether; it didn’t work.

When proprietors complied, the Liberals decided that smoking should be banned in business establishments altogether.

Give me your tired, poor, your huddled masses, yearning to smoke, and they can do so…outside of buildings, and not just Federal buildings.  So these huddled masses dialy brave the 20 degrees below (no thanks to Global Warming) or the 100 degree Texas sun.

That will fix ‘em,” the Libs thought. It was little more than a flesh wound!

Next baby step was banning all smoking in some cities. Believe it or not, there are proposals to not allow you to smoke in your own apartment, and get this…your own HOME!  The home that you OWN!

Now the idea is that the air you breath out as a smoker is killing people.  As if they funky-butt, stank-breath, noxious hot air of these Libs trolls is not twice as deadly!

Here’s the wrap:

All this effort, because the Liberals had the long-term goal of destroying Big Tobacco.  What they haven’t counted on is that Big Tobacco pays a LOT of taxes.  And like most things Liberal, they are trying to kill the goose who lays the golden eggs.

After all this wrangling, Big Tobacco is doing fairly well, particularly given the economy.  No blood, no foul.

Big Tobacco 3…Liberals 0!

Reid’s new proposal is no different.  He wants to back Republicans in a corner, because the new jobs bill—Stimulus II—at only $15B is an offer the Republicans can’t refuse.  Reid ask for an inch, so he can take a mile.  He believes this gambit will resurrect his career.

This is a calculated move by the Obama administration. Either way is a win for Obama. Republicans say no, and they are anti-small business. Republican say yes, and we begin the slippery slope of Big Tobacco.  But what Obama and Reid forget.  Big Tobacco WON!

My advice to Republicans is to reject Reid’s gambit. Thankfully for the Republicans, the grass roots has their back.  Will the Dems sell their idea on this for a bit? Perhaps.  But in the end, “No blood, no foul!”

Republicans 1…LibDemProgressiveRegressives 0

That’s my rant!

Great analogy Kevin. For all their anti-business rhetoric and agenda, the libs don’t seem to have an issue with their largest constituency making obscene profits. Trial lawyers were the big winners in the anti-tobacco lottery, as well as state governments, who have long since spent their winnings. The bigger issue was the fact that the anti-tobacco movement was a trial run to loss of personal freedom in the name of societal health. What better, more disgusting whipping boy than tobacco use? Agreed that the 15Bil phony jobs bill is another trick. Gotta hand it to those libs, who never tire of raising money for the DNC. Meanwhile the jobs bill will in fact be an anti-jobs bill that hammers another nail in the coffin of free enterprise by adding to the unsustainable public debt. By the way Kevin, it was hardly noticed by the MSM that the POTUS flat out lied about not taxing those who make less than 250K when he signed a tax increase on cigs that are consumed mostly by people who make less than 250K.

Kevin Jackson says:

mt – Sage comment as always. And yes, they are not making too much about taxing of under $250K, but I hear the rumblings…Stay tuned on that one

finally, somebody is sticking up for big tobacco! oh, how i pine for those halcyon days when i was a child, when whole airplanes and offices and restaurants were so filled with beautiful white billowy smoke, that it felt like heaven on earth. how we all long to be captivated once more by delicious nicotine wafting through buses and in classrooms. the libs want clean air? give me a world where tar drips from maternity ward walls, like the sweet syrup from a maple.

also, i think it’s politically quite shrewd to link second hand smoke with climate change. i mean, nothing will win converts like letting the people know that climate change is just as phony as lung cancer. i encourage all conservatives to adopt this line. stupid libs and their fake science. “carcinogens”?! yeah right!

The American cigarette makers, world renowned for making the best cigarettes on earth, have the whole rest of the planet to hawk their cigarettes to. the rest of the world smokes. they dont need the USA. i believe that providing an addictive drug to people who want addictive drugs is as legitimate as any other free transaction. i do not believe in government ordered No Smoking. When I am disturbed by someone else’s cigarette smoke invading my nostrils and clothing I spit a gob of chewing tobacco sludge onto them.

Hey all.

Kev, another suggestion when you get around to a redesign here…

A link to this PDF should be prominently displayed on the page:

http://suwanneegop.com/NBRA%20Civil%20Rights%20Newsletter-2.pdf

This should be printed and airdropped by the millions (hope you got the cake to pay for the littering fines…) all over America, from sea to sea. This should be required reading in every school in this nation, from this day on. Hackers should interrupt MTV broadcasts with pages from this PDF. Hard copies of it should be sent to the news divisions of every newspaper in the nation.

It is the antidote, or it’s seeds.

Oh, Proudhon, you need to get out more. I could provide more proof than would be considered cool for a guest to post, in the hopes that you would see. I do believe that it would be a waste of time. (*those ones took me thirty seconds to find.)

i see, jj. so are you under the impression that alcohol is criminalized because you cant get drunk while you’re driving? is sex criminalized because you can’t do it in a restaurant (at least not the ones i patronize)?

its absolutely justified to be angry with the state for the systematic limitations its placed on civil liberties through the criminalization of vices. but tobacco isn’t criminalized. to think otherwise is to let silly republican culture politics get in the way of actual material facts. you want to get self-righteous about eroding liberties, why not hold these tea-parties to repeal all drug laws and decriminalize all drugs? why scream “lock him up and throw away the key” about drug addicts or espouse “tough on crime” platitudes that almost always mean more cops in poor neighborhoods to arrest petty weed, crack, and heroin dealers?

actually, i’m pretty sure the problem here is you don’t know what you’re talking about. but that’s not surprising.

back to my point: beyond the threat to civil liberties, these various wars on crime, drugs, terror, etc. have cost the public obscene amounts of money. so again, if tea-baggers really believe the stuff they get so exercised over, then why not take a stand against the cost to the taxpayer these policies incur?

As an ex-smoker I think the government has exerted its power with smoking to the extreme. There should be no smoking wherever food is served and where children are in attendance. Otherwise, smoking should be allowed in well-vented smoking rooms.

The liberals do not want to add a profits add-on tax for excessive profits realized by the tobacco industry but they do want those taxes for the oil and gas industry. Now, doesn’t that sound like the liberals. They’re in bed with tobacco and not in bed with oil and gas.

I live in Southern Maine. Last year there were three hikes in taxes on cigarettes. Two by the state and one by the Feds. The majority of smokers are at the lower end of middle class to its mid-point. But, lets go visit Wall Street and all those Hedge Funds that made millions and billions this past year. The owners/operators/fund managers income that comes from these funds are taxed at capital gain rates. Whereas the guy with a regular job who makes if he’s lucky 5% of what one of those guys makes will pay in Federal and State income taxes than the hedge funds guys. Is that fair? Is that balanced?

@Mick – I disagee. The markeplace should address smoking. Don’t take your kids to places where people are allowed to smoke. IF you love the food so much that you are compelled to go, then don’t take the kids. But you can’t dictate to a business owner what type of establishment he sets up, as long as it allows all patrons in. Patrons can then decide if they want to return. If a guy had a restaurant with great food, but catered to the Aryan Nation, I likely would not return.

kevin, i’ve got a bulletin for you too: the center for disease control says this about second hand smoke: “Each year, secondhand smoke exposure causes approximately 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 22,700–69,600 heart disease deaths annually among adult nonsmokers in the United States.”

and, if you’re interested in what the liberal george w. bush and his liberal surgeon general richard carmona had to say about the health threats of second hand smoke, feel free to read this: http://www.surgeongeneral.gov/library/secondhandsmoke/report/index.html or, if that’s too much reading for you (which i suspect it is) you can read the nicely condensed fact sheet here: http://www.surgeongeneral.gov/library/secondhandsmoke/factsheets/factsheet6.html

so, what supports your claim? should your readers just take your word for it? do you practice oncology when you’re not making barely coherent blog posts?

Mick says:
February 17, 2010 at 4:08 pm

Yes Kevin I agree. The marketplace should dictate what can and cannot be done within their establishments. Unfortunately, thats not the way it is in many states. There is no smoking in any public place in Maine. Believe a law was recently passed that prohibits smoking on public beaches. You can’t smoke in a vehicle if a child is a passenger. You can’t smoke within so many feet of a public building. A lot of bars, pubs and restaurants had outside decks built for their smoking customers only to have further legislation requiring the decks/porches to provide the same services as inside. And that is next to impossible during the winter in Maine.

So in Maine they got us where they want us…….

Smoked 2 to 3 packs a day for over 30 years and could not stand smoke blowing in my face when I was eating. But, if you blew smoke in my face while sitting at a bar that was okay. Actually, didn’t even notice it!!

Kevin Jackson says:
February 17, 2010 at 5:48 pm

WOW! 34 HUNDRED! A PANDEMIC for sure! More people die from eating pig feet! And you quote heart disease statistics as well?

I am not a doctor, but I play one in this blog. And I am a student of OBSERVATION! Like I said, Americans are so indulgent that we have such trivialities to concern ourselves with!

JJ SOLARI says:
February 17, 2010 at 6:10 pm

pudty dumpty, you need to worry about all the second hand donuts you’re eating, not the second hand smoke youre breathing, which, i suspect if you COULD figure out a way to eat second hand smoke, you would. people who smoke cigarettes are usually DOING something, and if the day ever comes when you do something you’ll probably start smoking too. so relax about the cigaretts other people are smoking and worry about your own dirigible ass. you libs always want to get SOMEONE ELSE to do something. give up this, stop doing that, hand you this, get you that, quit this. you’re like neurotic little miniature
dictators without the energy or talent to actually go take-over a country. you want some child molester in office to do it for you. go have another treefull of avocados and relax about the smokers.

Mick says:
February 17, 2010 at 8:52 pm

WOW! A pandemic for sure! Almost like the H1N1 Virus or Swine Flu…..remember that? And what that was suppose to do? Almost like the pandemic we were suppose to experience from the Bird Flu!!

Should have mentioned I didn’t quit smoking by choice. If it was up to me I’d still be smoking a couple packs a day. And to be honest I MISS smoking. It still drives me crazy to see a smoker on tv!! Worse is to smell the smoke!!

Proudhon stop blabbing those stats of yours and concentrate your efforts on individual rights being taken away!! That would be more productive!!

JJ SOLARI says:

proudhon says:
February 17, 2010 at 10:29 pm

good lord, the sense of entitlement you people have. oh, hahaha, guffaw guffaw guffaw, tens of thousands of americans dying each year because of secondhand smoke. who cares as long as i don’t have to put my coat on to smoke a cigarette. i don’t know what you mean by “collective rights,” but if it means that i have an obligation not to spread cancer, or heart disease, or SIDS to my neighbor, then okay, i’m for that.

3,400 americans dying of lung cancer each year is trivial to you? this is the same blog where commentors advocate the genocide of arabs and muslims b/c 3000 people died in the wtc. but you’ll take that figure plus some every year because “it’s so cold in maine in the winter”? such whiny, entitled, pampered, yuppies masquerading as salt of the earth populists. grow up and put your goddamed coat on if you have so little will power that you still smoke cigarettes in 2010.

and just to remind you, no one has criminalized tobacco. so get over your persecution complex and face the sad reality that we live in a modern democracy where most people take science seriously, where no one wants to be around smokers and their gross ass habit anymore. concerned about “individual rights”? well, ones individual rights erode quite dramatically when they’re dying of heart disease.

and, again, what any of this has to do with the jobs bill seems to have eluded every single person here, since it hasn’t come up in the comments once.

pud hunny you actually have my attention. since you are typical of your ilk maybe i can talk to all of you – all 700 pounds of you personally – and all of your silent friends who i am sure dont have the thick-headedness of you to keep coming back over and over and over. You see, fats, the people you are talking to here do not share your basic premise: which is: obey. The premise of the people here is; liberty. It is an idea foreign to you and people like you. You, pudhun have the psychological profile of a sociopath: which is “people have to do what I want whether they want to or not and whether I am even INVOLVED or not.” You are one of these “there ought to be a law” people. You want to stop things. You want to stop people. You would be a great cop if you didnt weigh 700 pounds. To be a cop you cant put on that much weight until AFTER you have the job. To you it’s all about government. Because you are unable to imagine life on your own, unable to order people around. Since you cannot order people around in real life – as is evidenced by your persistent anonymity – you have to have some gang do it for you. You have no identity. You are just an urge. An urge to get people to obey. In real life, outside this electronic make-believe you could not order a dog off the lawn. And you barely exist here other than as an example – and a good one I have to admit – of the Liberal,
frightened-of-self-reliance mindset. Your typical of the collectivist mentality. Certainly in density of skull mass. It’s a shame we can’t send you to Persia to fight the enemy. You could probably take endless headshots with impunity. Your helmet could be safely donated to someone else. That would be a saving your buddy Barack Okenya would really get excited about!!

Mick says:
February 17, 2010 at 11:46 pm

Yes Proudhon I feel sorry for those people who have to put a coat or jacket on in the middle of winter to satisfy their addiction to tobacco. I’m thankful that I’m no longer one of them. The fact remains I miss smoking and probably always will. I also feel sorry for the homeless, especially the homeless who live in the Northeast. I feel sorry for the elderly who have to decide if today is the day I take my medication or eat. I feel sorry for the unemployed and their worry about tomorrow and next week. I feel sorry for the soup kitchens that are closing because they have lost their funding.

You mentioned where there hasn’t been a discussion on the jobs bill being proposed by Obama, or is it Pelosi and Reid? From what I understand the three of them aren’t in agreement. In addition, what they are proposing did not work in the past and will not work now. Its downright stupidity to think an employer is going to hire a new employee for a measly $5,000 tax credit! Big deal!! Between salary and benefits that new employee with still cost approximately $50,000 after the tax credit. Another laugh is a $2,500 credit for the employers portion for social security taxes for new employees.

Now Proudhon, I have a question for you…..These credits do not create jobs. Where is the job creation in these credits? Business common sense is simple….before you add to your payroll you need new or additional business. There is no stimulus to provide additional spending by the consumer. Thus all those credits are meaningless.

By the way Proudhon the best way to create new jobs, which has been proven, is reduction in Federal income taxes. From what I have seen there is none of this being proposed by your party.

Must add Proudhon where I heard on FOX News that your party is considering a national sales tax, to be called a consumption tax, in addition to the income tax. This added tax to your purchase of goods is definitely not a jobs creator.

JJ SOLARI says:
February 18, 2010 at 12:13 am

mick, pud dumb thinks jobs are magic. he thinks a kenyan atheist making a command will make a job appear like him making a command will make a lit cigarette appear. the kenyan does smoke cigarettes i think? Pudumb thinks jobs are created by Nature, like clouds. Pudumb never did anything so he has no clue that the economy is a result of people doing something, not some lawyer humping a page writing an edict. To pudumb America was created by Congress. Not the other way around. Amerca ought to repeal Congress, by the way. Things would get real good real fast around these here 50 States.

Mick says:
February 18, 2010 at 1:48 am

jj you have to remember the Kenyan Mulato is above the law. One of the first things he did after being sworn in as president was to issue an executive order prohibiting him from making public various documents relating to his birth certificate, college records from Columbia and Harvard and any other pertinent documents that can be considered private. That’s what the Kenyan Mulato did his first day in office. In essence he put himself above the law.

Hey, we on this blog should give the poor guy a break when it comes to job creation because the Kenyan Mulato has never worked a job. He doesn’t know what it means to work a job. Has no comprehension as to his job and its effect on the government. He lacks this experience and even reading from teleprompters his prepared talk on the job market is lacking sound business common sense

Some will argue he worked as a community organizer. This was the period where he met all his hoodlum type friends. But, we saw how successful he was acting like a community organizer in Copenhagen…….a big failure.

Guess that word failure can be used when referring to Obama’s economic policies to get the economy moving in the right direction…….failure!!
.

JJ SOLARI says:

Taqiyy. says:

Kevin,
“NBRA is a great site. I would like to partner with them and other black organizations. Getting them to work with me is the chore.”

What’re the obstacles with this?

I wonder also, about the focus. I do agree that the spearhead of whatever movement is eventually to wake up the minds of black Americans should probably be aimed AT black Americans, and someone’s got to do it, and it’s got to be someone who is black…. But white American and the rest of the rainbow-America are also in dire need of a re-education on the history of Race and Party in America. Again, something I’ve noticed: the white folks who are most in need of the truth of their erased history – the Dem loyalists and anyone else who watches too much television, and anyone who stopped learning history in the 12th grade, right after being taught all the lies by their Dem school – also need a black person to be that spokesman, for many psychological reasons. They, like any self-respecting crowd in the ‘hood, are not going to listen to a white guy on this matter. Just like the black crowd, the white crowd will tell a white guy who tries to tell them what evils the Dems did and do to blacks, “Well, who the hell are you? You don’t have any credibility speaking on the black ‘experience’!” Nevermind that facts are facts, that’s just the way things are.

I think many MORE white folks (and non-blacks in general) are having their eyes opened by the likes of AlfonZo and T.Sowell and W.Williams about the true history of civil rights in America than they are by Rush and Hanniity and anyone else. A spokesperson has greater credibility with skin in the game, and the courage it takes to break from the herd.

Someone’s got to get the message to the black Americans who need it, I know.

But perhaps that’s just dividing us all, as well, when all ‘races’ AND classes of Americans have a great need of education on this matter.

Kev, I think about this all the time. I wish I had a solution.

It’s gonna take something going viral. A video, a song, something which can spread in days and leave a few million people thinking, “Damn, and they taught us WHAT?”

Taqiyy. says:

I want to see that lie broken.

I want to see it crumble before our eyes like the AGW narrarative, and I’m sorry, but I want to see Democrat leadership PAY for what they’ve done with race in the U.S.A., from slavery to secession to segregation to socialism and neo-slavery.

I just can’t think of a punishment that would be fitting for these, NOR WOULD IT BE MY PRIVELEDGE. Let a jury of newly-awakened and newly liberated blacks be the deciders of what is a fit punishment for SIX DECADES of lies and lynching and intentional de-education and Planned by Sanger genocide. I’ll be cool with whatever they go with, I’m guessing.

Obama is creating a commission of 18 to advise him on ways to reduce spending. Would assume once created he’ll appoint a CZAR for them to report to…….

Why doesn’t he ask the governed tax payers??

We could advise him where the debt could be reduced by a trillion overnight. Apply the unused and paid back TARP money and the unused funds from his so called Stimulus Package and the debt has been reduced by a trillion.

Whatever title you want to attach to him doesn’t really matter because he has advanced himself to the head of the class for stupidity!!

@Taq – I certainly want to be part of this movement. It takes MONEY! I know I am running out of mine, so I need about 10,000 people to hit the DONATE button on this website, and donate $5-20. That would be a good start. I guarantee you that I’d get the message out on this quickly and effectively.

Kevin Jackson says:
February 18, 2010 at 11:33 am

@Mick – For Obama, nothing is official, unless it came from a union, a radical, a lobbyist, or a crony…but all that said, I was being overly redundant!

@Taq-Your idea about putting something on youtube and getting peoples attention and making it go viral is an excellent idea.It has to be outrageous to get peoples attention.Maybe have someone paint their face black and their lips white like Eddie Cantor from the old days.Have him sing Swanee River and tap dance and then pan to Pelosie and Reid clapping. Some how you have to steer people to the NBRA site to raise awareness.Just a thought. Anymore ideas out there?

Folks, I have videos like this on the internet. http://www.youtube.com/theblacksphere01

Excellent vids, Kevin! Just watched two of the “Great Moments in Democrat Racist History”, and “Putting it together”, now I want to watch the rest. Someone burn these to dvd and air-drop them over DC, Philly, Chicago, LA, Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans…for a START.

Kevin, you need to put them all here, all the videos, with a youtube widget or something, and then we need to buy adspace on billboards for Blacksphere.

Yeah. Money. I know.

We are NOT a democracy; we are a republic. It’s the liberals who like to use the word democracy. We are a republic, and frankly, all Americans will benefit if we keep it that way. And if some US residents want to live in a democracy…there’s plenty of countries to which they can move. Leave our republic alone.

It’s pretty simple, if you don’t like smoke, stop freakin’ going to places where people can smoke and then piss and moan about smoke. I’ve found smokers are always the friendliest people anyway.

JJ SOLARI says:

Smokers are friendlier people because Pall Mall lengthens the smoke – filters it – and makes it mild.

A question…..When is Obowma going to start apologizing to the world for Americans winning so many gold and total medals in Vancouver?

JJ SOLARI says:
February 19, 2010 at 1:24 pm

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I hope that commie bastard doesnt read this he’ll think that’s a great idea. Shaun White, a wild and wooly snowboarder puts his hand over his heart when the national anthem plays. our president doesn’t. that’s why he wants gitmo closed. he’s scared to death there’s gonna be a coup any second and he’s gonna get thrown in there. he should be scared, he’s doing everything he can to make it happen. I mean ya see these kids doing everything in their power to make their Country proud of them and to be an inspiration to Americans and you look at that crawling piece of snake mucous in the oval office – who hates ALL of these kids and detests every American flag increasingly displayed in Vancouver and you want to puke. Look what you started Mick! Now I’m TOTALLY PISSED!!! awww wtf, i’m always totally pissed. Anyway, good question.

Kevin Jackson says:

@Mick – He secretly is apologizing for America’s dominance. Lucky for us, he has Biden working on that!

Kevin Jackson says:

@jj – I’m with you there. Don’t let Obama know that’s an option…

LOL @ JJ, niiiice.

Dana – ” I’ve found smokers are always the friendliest people anyway.”

I was on a train from New London, CT to Boston one day, and just as the train left the station, not a hundred yards out, the engine died. I was at the front end of a smoker car, and the car in front of us was a nonsmoking car. Well, they had to go get anoher engine, and as you can imagine, going to get a new train engine can’t exactly be done in a snap.

We sat there for about 2 hours. Us smokers chatted among ourselves and with the Amtrak staff, conductors, friendly as can be…I mean we weren’t singing “99 Bottles of Beer” or anything, but the difference….oh my goodness. The folks in the nonsmoking car were YELLING at the staff and conductors, just being rude, mean, and irritating.

I suppose the immediate argument against my anecdote would be “well, they were pissed because they were breathing your smoke.” Well, that isn’t the way I remember it, as nobody was complaining about the smoke at all. BAM, took that strawman apart. Pre-emptively.

Also, look for vids on youtube by this dude (you’ve probably already seen ‘em, but just in case…I saw them before the election of “The ONE” (-termer)

Just amazing. Someone needs to get all these really knowledgable folks together and produce something BIG. It’s like everyone who makes videos like this are isolated and playing the game individually, like a free-for-all, and I wonder about the effectiveness of the message…there are a thousand little messages – like a thousand little desktop speakers and we need a double Marshall Stack Amp. Some sort of coordination would certainly be helpful.

Taqiyyotomist says:
February 19, 2010 at 4:25 pm

I wonder if he said “screw it.”

It looks like LivingonplanetZ’s channel is stagnant, last vid was produced a year ago.

75 really informative videos, though, is no small accomplishment.

Kevin Jackson says:

Proudhon
you put up links of surgeon generals, if you beleive everything they say I have a bridge at a good price. Studies linking cigarettes and lung cancer are inconclusive, you have a better chance of getting lung cancer or skin cancer from your hot steamy shower that is if your water is chlorinated which is a carcentogen.

JJ SOLARI says:
February 22, 2010 at 12:06 am

pudhunny puts up the Bureaucrat General’s smoking “data” because he believes in the Cult of Government. He can’t imagine life without a Central Authority for him to run to and rat-out everyone he considers a mischief-maker. It’s the “democracy” that he loves so much that makes it possible for the most worthless members of the society people like him – to order the most useful members – people like me – around: because there’s just so damn many more of them.

proudhon says:
February 22, 2010 at 12:31 am

wow, dong, you are even further along the nutter spectrum than even kevin. so for you, not only is there no conclusive evidence that second hand smoke causes cancer, but there’s no conclusive evidence that ANY smoking causes cancer? I see…

i just want to make sure i’m getting this: to you (and, presumably others here), those surgeon general reports I linked (produced during the w. bush administration by the surgeon general he appointed) were part of a larger conspiracy, designed to fabricate a causality between cigarette smoke and a range of terminal diseases? and in actuality, smoking has NEVER been proven to have anything to do with those diseases?

so then what’s the REAL motivation here, on the part of the state (and, presumably, the blacks…err…i mean libs/socialists/progressive/fascists/special interests/welfare/entitlement/blahblahblah/whateverglenbecksays/BIGGOVERNMENT)? all just an elaborate plot designed to take the “liberties” from real hardworking patriotic american patriots from america (the REAL america — the only americans who still smoke, of course)? if there’s one thing that BIG GOVERNMENT hates, its american agriculture. and, if there’s a second thing that BIG GOVERNMENT hates, its the ability to generate obscene tax revenues from the vices of idiots. so clearly, BIG GOVERNMENT wants to CRIMINALIZE cigarette smoking, that’s why they’re perpetrating this massive fraud. did i get it all?

this blog never ceases to prove what some god-hating lib once said, “you can’t win arguments with people who don’t deal in facts.”

and jj, no offense intended here pal, but i’m fairly convinced you’re a paranoid schizophrenic. I do my best to ignore your posts. feel free to reciprocate.

JJ SOLARI says:

just because i’m a paranoid schizophrenic doesnt mean i’m wrong. it just means i’m nuts.

Mick says:
February 24, 2010 at 11:17 pm

JJ if Proudhon thinks you’re a paranoid schizophrenic what do you think his problem(s) is/are? Okay, I realize that’s a difficult question to answer with a sentence or two and I’m certain you could write a very funny short story with your reply but, I’ll let you decide….

JJ SOLARI says:
February 24, 2010 at 11:43 pm

i would be very relieved to learn that i actually am a paranoid schizophrenic because that would mean that what i think is my problem is a lot less severe than i thought. pud dome’s “problem” is that he thinks he’s intelligent. same problem obama has.

Mick says:
February 25, 2010 at 12:49 am

JJ that was an excellent answer. You took a negative and made a positive out of it! Well done! Sort of sad that Proudhon and Obama have the same problem thinking they are intelligent individuals when in fact they aren’t.

JJ SOLARI says:
February 25, 2010 at 2:42 am

Correct, Mick! I believe if you simplify things for The Slow, like, say, Pudhunny, or, for example, say, President Obama, it brings them sometimes closer to a clear realization that everything they say do or think is basically retarded. Some people call it cruel. I call it public service. Thank you.
