Senator Dianne Feinstein has spoken long and loudly concerning her distaste of firearms.
Excepting, of course, herself and her heavily-armed protection detail. But Feinstein has made it clear that the average, law-abiding citizen has no right to keep and bear arms.
Now she has added to her unconstitutional legislation, and the reasoning for the proposed bills: Senator Feinstein asserted that veterans should not be exempt from her “assault” weapons ban due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The senator said:
The problem with expanding this is that you know with the advent of PTSD, which I think is a new phenomenon as a product of the Iraq War, it’s not clear how the seller or transferrer of a firearm covered by this bill would verify that an individual was a member, or a veteran, and that there was no impairment of that individual with respect to having a weapon like this. So you know I would be happy to sit down with you again and see if we could work something out but I think we have to — if you’re going to do this, find a way that veterans who are incapacitated for one reason or another mentally don’t have access to this kind of weapon.
First, PTSD, is no new condition–for many millennia warriors have felt the effects of combat. The exact term, PTSD, was first used in 1980, but the effects of battle had been noted throughout history.
Second, to make such a sweeping statement about our brave heroes who deserve our honor and trust, not censure and derision, displays Feinstein’s upside-down world-view.
Rather, I propose that Senator Feinstein be censured and derided for her asinine assumption that she can strip heroes and patriots of their Second Amendment rights!
Perhaps we should coin a new term: Post Election Megalomania Disorder and diagnose the arrogant Senator as severely afflicted.
Yes indeed. PEMD seems to be running rampant amongst the Left (and a few GOP officials) in the Senate and House.
Let’s advise Senator Feinstein and the rest of her gun-grabbing, PEMD-afflicted cronies, know our Second Amendment rights shall NOT be infringed!
ΜΟΛΟΝ ΛΑΒΕ Dianne.
