Pathway to Citizenship for Illegals Could Cost Billions

No one knows exactly how many illegal aliens are in the US, though the “official” stats indicate at least 10 million.

 
And the path to citizenship for these squatters could be extraordinarily expensive to taxpayers. Not only would amnesty be costly, it would also be a tremendous disincentive for foreigners to make the effort for legal processes. Further, what guarantee do we have that those who would break the law to get into our country, would suddenly recognize the rule of law once a green card is in hand?
