You know what you won’t see? A black Republican become a Democrat. But little by little black Democrats see the light, and they convert.
As Star Parker noted recently:
At a conference held in Baton Rouge at the end of May, called @Large and aimed to attract black conservatives, a black Democratic member of the Louisiana Legislature, Elbert Guillary, announced that he was switching parties and becoming a Republican.
Less than two weeks later, just up the road in Central City, La., black Democrat city Councilman Ralph Washington, who attended this same @Large conference, made the same announcement – he’s becoming a Republican.
There have been many others, such as Louisiana State Senator, Elbert Guillory.
Do you think the Republicans have capitalized on this? Have they analyzed why this occurs uni-directionally, and created a message to get others to do the same?
Black Democrats WANT to switch parties, but the Republicans give them NO reason to do so...
