Somebody better call somebody.
Somebody better call everybody.
A Republican has won in California.

According to the Washington Times:

“The party reached the bottom, and it’s been real tough to rebound, but the party is revitalizing itself because we got the grass roots fired up,” said California Young Republicans Chairman Joe Sanchis.

So much of this story is instructive to the GOP of today.

The man who won was a cattle rancher and a cherry farmer, not a community organizer or a lawyer. He won by engaging the Hispanic community, a community that votes almost 80% Democratic, and talked to them about, get this, improving the economy, lower taxes, less government interference with small business”.

Want a simpler way to say that? He talked to them as a Republican, about what it means to be a Republican in America.

And he did this in California, which is about as far away from America as one can get.
