Uncle Tom and Jerry

It’s not enough that Liberals call everything happening today racist, but these morons even want to go back to the past.

And in the latest bout of lunacy, the Left has deemed the iconic cartoon Tom and Jerrry racially and ethnically insensitive.

 The BBC reports:

The British edition of Amazon Prime has affixed a prominent statement warning of depictions of racism and ethnic prejudices in the vintage cartoons.

Amazon Prime’s program introduction for Tom and Jerry: The Complete Second Volume, which features the feuding cat and mouse in cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s, comes with the following cautionary warning: “Tom and Jerry shorts may depict some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once commonplace in American society. Such depictions were wrong then and are wrong today.”

I love what this did in social media circles,:

Twitter user Michael Rock (@TheMichaelRock) tweeted:

“I read that Amazon Prime is warning viewers that Tom and Jerry cartoons are racist and now I’m confused because I thought they were animals.”

Yes, in today’s Leftist world, black people are equated to RATS! But since the Congressional Black Caucus is full of rats, I get their point.

Next tweet from Katie Hopkins (@KTHopkins):

“Old Tom and Jerry cartoons to carry warnings of ‘racial prejudice.’ Give me strength. I am a foreigner in a culture I no longer understand.”

Welcome to Utopia, Sister…I mean, Sista!

On the other side of the argument , the Twitter user known as The Groovy God (@BeauYoungPrince) tweeted:

“To people who are mad that Tom and Jerry cartoons now have a warning about racist content being in them, get over it. It’s true.”

I wonder who @BeauPrince believes should get reparations, Tom or Jerry?

Tom and Jerry came under fire back in 2005 when Warner Bros released the DVD box set, called Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection: Volume 2. Each disc came with a on-screen warning for viewers that some of the cartoons depicted “racial and gender stereotypes.”

Further, the cartoons included a warning from none other than Whoopi Goldberg, who needed to explain why Warner Brothers kept the racial and gender stereotypes.

With all these protections in place, we can all be assured to be politically correct forevermore.
