Talk about hitting the illegal lotto, here’s a bill that sanctuary states will certainly love.
It’s not enough that Liberals INVITE illegals to swarm to America, and encourage states to violate our laws. But now they want to reimburse bad behavior . . . with a Republican’s help!
Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC) has introduced a bill that would use money earmarked for foreign aid to reimburse states for money spent to detain and educate illegal immigrants.
Why not add something that pay illegal criminals for rape, robbery, and murder?
Here is how Ellmers diagnoses the problem:
“The situation at the border is unprecedented–children are coming into our states at a rate that will overwhelm our local communities and their available resources…These children are being funneled into our public schools and our hospitals are forced to provide emergency care, but our states are given no financial assistance to deal with this ongoing problem.”
I have a novel suggestion for the Congresswoman: don’t allow them in, and if they get here SEND THEM HOME! Instead, people like Ellmers have already assimilated these illegals in, talking about providing education, healthcare, even JOBS!
Ellmers’ Accountability in Foreign Aid Act addresses concerns Republicans have over the billions the states have been forced to spend due to the failure of the federal government to address illegal immigration.
“Rather than continue to supply an endless amount of foreign aid abroad, it’s time we redirect funding sent overseas and prioritize our local governments who are left footing the bill.”
“State and local governments, as well as school boards, would be able to apply for reimbursement for the expenses to the Treasury Department,” The Hill reported. “Applicable expenses would include public school education, detention facilities, medical care and other services for the immigrants.”
Ellmers said that the program would be paid for by withholding 15 percent of foreign aid accounts. She excluded food aid programs, military aid to Israel, and other military aid programs. She also said that programs that remove unexploded land mines would be exempt, as would Global Health Programs and programs for non-proliferation, anti-terrorism, and other related programs.
I understand what she’s trying to do, but essentially we are putting a price tag on illegal immigration, and allowing states to just sweep the problem under the rug. I agree that the Fed must do a better job of controlling illegals entering the country, ergo states, but ultimately it’s our money solving a recurring problem.
I suggest she propose a bill that removes funding from countries who willfully allow illegal immigration, so we take back whatever funding we provide as we house their illegals. That’s a bill I can agree with.
In the present form of Ellmer’s bill, CA and other sanctuary states will have simply hit the illegal lotto.
