Black History Month is acceptable, but white people don’t dare celebrate theirs.
It’s all in the spirit of fairness. White people have celebrated history for far too long. When white people celebrate their history, black Liberals see that as “rubbing it in.”
So when this New York deli owner decided to honor his white heritage, the PC police went after him with a vengeance.
As NY CBS Local reported,
WCBS 880 couldn’t reach Boggess for comment, but he told the Hunterdon County Democrat, “No matter what you are — Muslim, Jewish, black, white, gay, straight — you should be proud of what you are. I shouldn’t have to feel bad about being white. I just want to be included. Why is this such a big deal? I don’t get it.”
I don’t get it either, except to say, perhaps Liberal black folks are jealous, as they have nothing to celebrate?
In other words, black Liberals need Black History Month and other celebrations in order to not feel bad about being black.
As a Conservative black man, I have plenty to celebrate, and not just in February. I have great memories of my own personal journey through life, which I have chronicled in some of my writing. I have four great sons, and many wonderful relationships that I treasure, past and present. I look fondly back on my time as an America, and have no regrets being born in this country. In fact, I am thankful to God that indeed I was born American.
I believe nobody can tell you what you can or cannot celebrate.
