Food stamps can buy this stuff?

Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBTs) is the biggest ripoff on the planet. The system has gone from paying for sustenance to paying for the ridiculous.

When did the welfare program begin allowing recipients to purchase “take-out” crab, champagne brunches, and lingerie?!

Or how about EBT being use to trade for weed,  then BRAG about your purchases on social media!

Turning Point USA

Late last week, the GOP controlled Congress passed a budget which includes cuts to welfare programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP.)

Left wing groups like UltraViolet are already using scare tactics to fight back. In an email obtained by Turning Point USA, UltraViolet claims, “The U.S. Senate just passed a budget that literally takes food away from hungry children.”

After a brief search on Twitter and Instagram, Turning Point USA uncovered more than one hundred documented examples of welfare recipients abusing, mocking, and making light of welfare programs. Ripe with abuse, Twitter users attempt to sell food stamps, trade the stamps for weed, and purchase expensive food items.

Several of the social media posts use the hashtags #EBT, #EBTgang, #EBTcard, #EBTsquad, and #TeamEBT – many of which depict a culture of glorifying the use of Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBTs.)

UltraViolet asks for individuals to sign a petition that says, “Taking food away from families is plain wrong. Leave SNAP alone!”

However, it may just be time for an honest discussion on the matter.
