The man responsible for bankrolling anti-police protest groups, such as #BlackLivesMatter, was recently spotted at Union Station in Washington, D.C. being escorted by two on-duty white Amtrak police officers to his train.
According to Evan Gahr, an Investigative Journalist for the Daily Caller, Leftist sugar-daddy George Soros is the only private person he’s ever seen with a police escort, since he first started using Union Station in 1991. Gahr reports that he saw the two officers escort Soros from a private waiting room at the station and into an Amtrak golf cart, then chauffeur him down the tracks to a waiting train.
One would think that the 19th richest person in the United States, 29th in the world, could afford his own personal security. Amtrak is federally funded, which means the taxpayers are picking the tab for Soros private bodyguards. Apparently, things are different when you airdrop hundreds of millions of dollars to Left Wing politicians who support your causes, as Soros did by donating millions to Obama’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
Gahr reached out to Amtrak about their policy for providing security to private citizens, as reported in his article:
“Amtrak spokeswoman Chelsea Kopta, explained that, ‘Requests for security services are forwarded by the National Communications Center and various other contacts to the Amtrak Police Department’s Dignitary Protection Unit. The Unit evaluates each request on a case-by-case basis to determine the need for Amtrak Police resources, and to determine an appropriate course of action. We’ve found this to be mutually beneficial as we can assure the safety of the individual/group as well as keep the flow of pedestrian traffic moving.’”
The man who bankrolled the protests in Ferguson, which caused millions of dollars of damage from rioting, looting and arson, is considered a dignitary? Interesting definition.
Here is a bit of irony for you. Soros has donated over $30 million to the #BlackLivesMatter movement, a group that has become singularly focused on incidents involving black citizens and white police officers, yet Soros is not shy about using white police officers to protect him. If he was truly sympathetic to BLM, Soros could have at least demanded black police officers escort him, if for nothing more than a symbolic gesture.
