Most stories originating out of Wackademia these days test our sensibilities, and showcase the deterioration of American values.
But occasionally the good guys win, and in this case, Christianity got its first win in some time.
Recall the professor at Wheaton College who decided to dress in Muslim garb to show solidarity to murderous Muslims by wearing a hijab. She was ultimately placed on administrative leave. Typically this is just a “cooling off” period that allows the media hype to die down, and the radical gets reinstated, thus no blood no foul.
As the Washington Post reported, that’s not the case here.
Wheaton College, an evangelical college in Illinois, had placed associate professor of political science Larycia Hawkins on administrative leave after she made a controversial theological statement on Facebook that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. The school has now begun the process to fire her due to an “impasse,” it said in a statement released on Tuesday.
Did SCOTUS make the right decision on medical mandates for large businesses?
This is a big deal, and frankly Wheaton College should be applauded. Typically, Leftist like Hawkins are allowed to spread the disease of Liberalism, and that is why academia is the least tolerant place on the planet for Conservative views. Hawkins was a cancer, waiting to metastasize, but Wheaton College did the right thing by cutting it out.
It is reported that Hawkins was “flummoxed and flabbergasted” by the college’s decision. And I’m sure she was. Because in situations like this, the Left always wins. She would teach that college a lesson, and showcase her “tolerance” to a religion that shows no mercy to Christians, as over 1 million Christians have been slaughtered at the hands of Muslims in just the past few years.
This is the religion that Hawkins, a tenured political science professor in a post on Facebook said that she would wear a hijab during the Advent season in support of Muslims.
“I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book,” Hawkins wrote on Facebook. “And as Pope Francis stated last week, we worship the same God.”
Well I hope the Muslims will give her a job, perhaps as a sex slave to one of the jihadists?
Speaking at a press conference in the sanctuary of Chicago’s First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Hawkins reiterated that she has not wavered from the college’s statement of faith.
“Wheaton College cannot scare me into walking away from the truth (that) all humans — Muslims, the vulnerable, the oppressed of any ilk – are all my sisters and brothers, and I am called by Jesus to walk with them,” she said.
More BS propaganda from a Leftist wolf in sheep’s clothing, lurking at a Conservative college.
