The Obamas won’t be attending the funeral of former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
The reason why is simple. For the Obamas, so what a Conservative white guy died; there is no potential upside.
The funeral is this Saturday, but the Obamas have something better to do, so they are dispatching the Bidens.
White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest said, [pp]
President Obama and the First Lady will pay their respects at the Supreme Court on Friday. Scalia will lie in repose in the Court’s Great Hall until 8:00 p.m. that night.
That will be the definition of a black president drive-by, as the Obama wave from The Beast, and keep on rolling.
Did SCOTUS make the right decision on medical mandates for large businesses?
Keep in mind that the last time a justice died it was Chief Justice William Rehnquist in 2005. Not only did President George W. Bush who was president at the time attend the funeral, Bush also eulogized Rehnquist.
What’s most intriguing is that we have no idea what the Obama’s will be doing. According to one article I read, Obama’s absence from Scalia’s funeral will be first time in 65 years that a sitting president has not attended the funeral of a sitting Supreme Court justice.
I can hardly wait to see what was more important than honoring one of America’s scholars and justice heroes.
Any thoughts on what the Obamas are doing? Perhaps having dinner with Jay-Z and B? Does Obama have a big golf tourney?
