Cartoonist Under Fire for Racism

Anything you do that is not pro-Obama, or in this case Michelle Obama, then the barbs of racism occur.

As reported in the Daily Mail,

A cartoonist has been accused of racism after he portrayed Michelle Obama as masculine and butch next to a pageant-ready Melania Trump in a controversial drawing.

The cartoon – which has been branded ‘racist and misogynistic’ – shows a muscular Mrs Obama wearing a green dress with a bulge in the groin area.

Stood next to her is a feminine, smiling Melania Trump in a pink dress and holding a Trump sign.

The artist Ben Garrison tweeted the picture on Friday with the caption: ‘#InTrumpsAmerica The #FirstLady will be Great Again! #Trump2016.’

Admittedly, the cartoon is crass. The Left has ridiculed Republican first ladies for decades, particularly Barbara Bush. But when anybody attacks Michelle Obama, suddenly first ladies are off limits.

Worse yet, what does making fun of Michelle Obama’s masculinity have to do with her color. I assure you, if Melania were built like a male decathlete, the press would be on her like ugly on Janet Napolitano, race notwithstanding.

Crassness aside, this is a very funny comic. That’s why they call these comic strips. They are funny, yet are based in some truth. The fact is Melania is a lot more physically appealing than Michelle Obama, though I’m sure there are a few people–very few–who disagree with me. The use of Trump’s slogan add that additional layer of “funny,” which is why the cartoon resonates.

OK, the wrinkle in the crotch area was a sly touch, but again speaks to the mannish nature of Michelle Obama, and pokes (pun intended) a bit of fun at her metrosexual, effeminate husband.

Comedic success. Layered, bitingly clever comedy.

When you consider that the Left almost wholly ignored the comedy of the Obamas, I’d say, it’s about time people got in a few passing shots. Lord knows, when the Obamas are gone, most Americans won’t miss them.
