4 Things: President Trump’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2017

3. Reform the Tax Code

trump-tax-codeThe power to tax is the power to destroy. And the IRS tax code is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of unprecedented economic growth.

As it currently stands, the tax code more than 70,000 pages long. Likewise, Americans spend 8.9 billion hours and $409 billion annually just to comply with it.

Further, the current tax code punishes hard work, savings, and investment. It cripples small businesses and prevents companies from hiring new workers.

Thus, in cooperation with a Republican Congress, President Trump must immediately work to simplify this broken system. Whether a flat tax or a national sales tax, any simplification of the tax code is better than none.

Currently the federal government confiscates more than half of people’s earnings, while providing very little in return. Employers have a partner that provides onerous regulations that stifle creativity, ergo productivity.

American businesses, workers, and investors are being hammered. It’s time to stop the madness and reform the tax code!
