Colleges claim to be institutions of higher learning, but they are cesspools of Kool-Aid drinking non-thinkers. Colleges have become cocoons of ignorance. Their administrators fear the contrarian thought of Conservatives.
Conservatives make too much sense. Professors like to test their self-indulgent theories unabated in their toxic Petri dishes they call classrooms.
People often ask me if I speak at colleges and universities. Sadly, I tell them no.
When I was getting my fellowship at the Dole Institute, a Liberal professor told me he wouldn’t have let me speak to his class if he had known I was a Conservative. Also, I found out recently that a faculty member shot down a proposal to have me speak at a college in Arkansas.
Trending: Ginsburg DEAD!
However, you can bet that Van Jones would have been accepted with open arms.
What are colleges afraid of? The truth, that’s what.
However, all that may come to an end soon. As National Review reports,
On American college campuses, conservatives are an ill-treated minority. They try to invite conservative speakers to campus, and the speakers are banned; two weeks ago, DePaul University banned conservative speaker and writer Ben Shapiro. Sometimes the college conservatives themselves are banned; UC Irvine banned the their college-Republicans after they invited conservative writer and speaker Milo Yiannopoulos. When schools allow the speaking engagements to proceed, they are frequently met with vicious protests — of the sort that have followed free-speech feminist Christina Hoff Sommers around the country for the last few months. Or the speakers are met with denunciations from college bigwigs, as in the recent case of a Virginia Tech students’ invitation to eminent political scientist Charles Murray: VT president Tim Sands attacked Murray’s “largely discredited work” — which Murray’s work certainly isn’t — and accused him of helping to justify racism and eugenics.
How long are Conservatives supposed to allow the dog-whistle of racism claims keep us from getting out our message? Moreover, one would think colleges and universities would want to know why gays, in the case of Milo, embrace Conservatism? What a chance to study “the freak,” right?
While we are on the subject of freaks, black Conservatives offer another “case study” for wackademia. Yet they don’t invite us.
I would love to destroy these academics on the reasons why I, a black Conservative Republican and member of the Tea Party Community would never embrace the Democratic Party or Liberalism in general.
And what of Shapiro, a Jew who likes Republicans? Sacrilege.
Speaking of Shapiro, the article mentions him again and the incident at DePaul.
Or sometimes the attacks on campus conservatives are more direct, like cancelling conservatives’ event room reservations at the last minute, refusing to find substitute rooms, or substituting rooms that are almost comically too small — as NYU did to the college Republicans when I was an undergraduate there a few years ago. Sometimes the attacks are more direct still: Just before cancelling Shapiro’s appearance, DePaul banned the college Republicans’ anti-abortion “Unborn Lives Matter” campaign, comparing the slogan to “a noose — a powerful symbol of violence and hatred — outside a residence hall.”
DePaul, like NYU, is a private institution and is, of course, entitled to censor whatever it wants. Since it’s a private institution, you would think DePaul would also be free to spend money on whatever athletic programs it chooses to. Not so, says Title IX: DePaul takes public funds, therefore it is required to adhere to certain federal guidelines.
Isn’t it time Americans demand equal access to these supposed young adult, as they formulate what they will become?
Thus, these kids have become snowflakes, because we’ve allowed Liberals to make them into snowflakes. Can you imagine the insurrection on college campuses across this nation, as students begin to look at the world with the clarity of Conservatism?
