Trump Welfare Reform: Leftists LIVID Over One Provision

Welfare qualifications are the first to undergo changes as Trump begins the process of reforming welfare. One provision has leftists LIVID!

misogynyNow, Congress has passed a measure to allow states to drug test people applying for unemployment. This is just one more way of encouraging people to get a job. And because of the policies of President Trump, jobs will actually be available.

Under Obama, states weren’t allowed to test applicants for drugs unless they were applying for a job that already had mandatory drug testing. However, under the new administration backed by a Republican-controlled Congress, things most certainly will change.

While the Left tend to focus on abuses by wealthy fat cats, they conveniently dismiss the abuses by millions of Americans who see welfare as their job. Certainly many people use welfare for its intended purpose, a leg up. However far too many people see welfare as a way of life.

The new administration works to remove these weeds from the garden.

As Fox News reports:

“As we saw too often, the Obama administration went beyond its legal authority in creating legislation that limits the role of state governments,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said.

Why should government attempt to control the citizens of states, when they have no idea of the economy and so on in those states? Government overreach occurred at massive levels under Obama. It’s time to put the power back in the hands of the states, ergo the people.

The article continues,

Multiple states have expressed interest in drug-testing more of their benefits-seeking residents, and it’s possible that the deregulation may create room for them to proceed with more aggressive drug testing policies

Excellent.

I know, we’re starting to sound like a broken record when we say “another promise kept.” But that’s exactly what is happening here. Trump promised welfare reform, and he’s delivering.

  • Step 1: Give states more control. Why should the fed involve itself in states’ issues?
  • Step 2: Weed out the drug users in the system.
  • Step 3: Restore common sense to legislation.

Obama grew the welfare rolls by over 16 million. However, you can bet that with some of the changes coming under President Trump, many people will find working the better alternative.
