Yet again workers are happy, a town in Michigan is happy, and the economy is happy. After President Trump’s visit to Michigan, General Motors and other auto makers cheered his announcement.

President Trump plans to review fuel efficiency standards (CAFE standards). Therefore, automakers will most likely sell an increased number of larger vehicles. Will the SUV market be revived?

Trump praised recent job announcements by Ford Motor Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and GM.

“That’s just the beginning,” he said in a speech to autoworkers in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Wednesday. “I told (the auto executives) that’s peanuts, that’s peanuts. We’re going to have a lot more. They’re going to be building new plants, expanding their plants.”

Trump has discouraged the industry from investing in Mexico and urged foreign automakers on Wednesday to add U.S. production at a roundtable that included executives from Toyota Motor Corp, Volkswagen AG and others.

Not only will they hire 500 layoffs, GM will add 220 jobs at a plant in Romulus, Michigan.The plant builds 10-speed automatic transmissions.

For those doing the math, that’s a total of 720 jobs. But WAIT!

Additionally, 180 jobs will be saved by moving workers from Lansing to a Flint assembly plant, bringing the total of jobs created or saved to 900.

And if that wasn’t enough magic for one company, General Motors will invest another billion dollars in U.S. factories.

Under Obama our companies were fleeing fast. They ran to Mexico or China; anywhere but here. However, Trump is working with our best CEOs to bring the economy back to life.

The bet on Trump is paying off big. His pro-business policies are exactly what it takes to dig us out of the 8-year Obama depression. Truthfully, though leftists don’t want to admit it, Trump is knocking it out of the park so fast we can barely keep score.
