Leftists Try to BLAME TRUMP on the biggest Obama FRAUD
One would think leftists would have had enough of Obama. But, when Obamacare is all they have to measure Obama’s “success,” they are forced to try to save it.
Obamacare is a failure. The so-called “Affordable Healthcare Act” has caused more Americans to choose between buying food or paying their mortgage over paying for health insurance.
More people fear hospitalization than at any time in modern history. And there is hardly an argument that you can wage for Obamacare that can’t be debunked with real evidence.
Yet, Jonathan Gruber, the architect of the Obamacare ruse, appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace. He was interviewed about the new health care bill. Amazingly, Gruber made the bold claim that President Trump is to blame for the failures of Obamacare.
Wallace pointed to statistics showing that health care premiums have skyrocketed as insurance companies are fleeing some markets: Premiums under Obamacare went up 24 percent last year, and the average number of insurers in each marketplace fell from 5.9 to 3.9, Wallace noted.
Gruber responded saying:
“Look, and who’s fault is this? Before President Trump was elected there were no counties in America that did not have an insurer.”
Gruber went on to claim that Trump has undercut the open enrollment program in Obamacare and “doesn’t honor the obligations this law makes to insurers.”
“As a result premiums are going up and insurers are exiting,” he said.
Nice try, Gruber!
Obamacare was failing long before Trump was even a serious contender for president.
And let’s not forget, nobody on the Left thought Trump would win. So how could any eventualities in healthcare be based on Trump?
Gruber lies because that’s what leftists do. He has spoken candidly several times about how the Obama administration intentionally misled the American public about certain aspects of the bill to get it passed. And Obama propagated the lie with claims, “If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor,” and “If you like your healthcare plan you’ll be able to keep your healthcare plan.”
Doctors and insurers exited long before Donald Trump came into the picture.
Health insurance premiums increased by 9.4% from 2010-2011, the first year after the ACA was passed, and have continued to rise. Throughout the nation, the average annual family premium for an employer-sponsored plan increased 4.2% to $17,545. At the state level, premiums have averaged a 28% increase from 2009 to 2014.
This year in Arizona unsubsidized premiums for a “second-lowest cost silver plan” will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422. How does Gruber justify these numbers since the AHCA was passed, and then blame the failure on a president who’s been in office for 3 months?
More people were bullied in getting insurance they couldn’t afford than actually were helped by Obamacare. Americans simply bought the cheapest plan to avoid the penalty. This is not “healthcare.” Obamacare eliminated “Cadillac plans,” in order to drive discerning people to Obamacare. Now, Gruber and other leftists scramble to save Obama’s healthcare legacy. Ironically, they know that saving the plan dooms Obama later rather than sooner.
But as Gruber famously noted, “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever. But basically that was really critical for the thing to pass.”
