Reaper Drone Stops ISIS Public Execution!
File this one under the good guys catching a break.
I side with whomever is against ISIS. So if ISIS readies to execute prisoners, I’m fighting with the prisoners.
Apparently President Trump feels the same way? According to the Telegraph UK this drone saved prisoners set for execution by ISIS.
The remote-controlled aircraft disrupted the display in a Syrian town by killing a sentry with a Hellfire missile.
Details of the incident on May 9 were revealed on Tuesday by the MoD.
The Reaper was flying an armed reconnaissance mission when it spotted a group of fighters from Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (Isil), also known as Daesh, in a main street in the town of Abu Kamal.
A statement from the MoD said: “When a van then unloaded two shackled prisoners in front of the crowd, it became clear that Daesh were organising a public execution.
“Given the large number of civilians present, the Reaper’s crew could not target directly the Daesh fighters about to carry out the murders.”
The Reaper pilots, who are believed to have been flying the aircraft by satellite link from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, spotted two Isil fighters posted as sentries on a nearby roof overlooking the makeshift execution ground.
The statement said: “A Hellfire missile was fired immediately, and scored a direct hit which not only killed one of the sentries but also brought the execution to an immediate halt.”
Obama used drones in many instances, though not as dramatic as this.
Perhaps President Trump allowed little Barron to have a go at the “video game”?

RAF sources said the missile strike caused panic among the crowd and the Isil fighters and the militants fled. But It was not immediately clear if the prisoners due to be executed escaped or were taken away by their would-be executioners.
OK, so we aren’t sure if the prisoners escaped. I get it.
What we are sure about is ISIS fighters don’t really want to meet their virgins, or why would they scatter.
And you can bet the next time they arrange a public execution, they won’t phone ahead.

Did President Trump authorize this strike? I don’t know, but I hope so.
What a message to send, and the timing is certainly “Trumpesque”.
ISIS can run but they can’t hide. Whatever name by which they go, Trump will find them. And he will be there with Reaper Drones!
