Comedic Hack Stephen Colbert Uses President Trump for Ratings
Colbert moved from a successful comedy show where he played a pseudo-Conservative badly.
And even though late night comedy is replete with mostly comedy has-beens, Colbert can’t compete.
Colbert has only one hope to get ratings and that’s by bashing President Trump. It’s become his daily sweeps. And why not, since Colbert said emphatically that Donald Trump would not become president.
Has Trump beaten protesters in Berkley?
Did he behead people in Times Square or stone women?
Who would you vote for if the elections were held today?
Does Trump kill innocent black babies on an operating table, then sell their body parts to buy more luxury cars?
No, all of those are things Leftist do or condone, then wholly ignore.
The reason the president got on the radar of Colbert? You’re not paying attention, as I have already told you…RATINGS!
Nevertheless, President Donald Trump sat down with CBS journalist John Dickerson for an interview which aired Sunday night. The interview abruptly ended when Dickerson kept asking the President if he stood by his claims that Obama wiretapped him.
Trump commented repeatedly, “I have my thoughts and opinions about it and obviously you have your own.”
Dickerson pressed him, saying, “but I am asking you, why can’t you answer?”
President Trump finally said, “Alright that’s enough” and walked away, ending the interview.
Stephen Colbert took issue with Trump walking away from Dickerson, calling it disrespectful and insulting.
“John Dickerson is a fair-minded journalist and one of the most competent people who will ever walk into your office and you treat him like that?” Colbert asked on “The Late Show” Monday night.
Colbert continued, “John Dickerson has way too much dignity to trade insults with the President of the United States to his face. But I, sir, am no John Dickerson. When you insult one member of the CBS family, you insult us all,” he said.
Spoken like a comedic hack in need of an ally…stat!
Then, Colbert did what third-graders do, and went into a very funny (not) expletive-filled tirade.
“You’re the presi-dunce, but you’re turning into a real prick-tator.”
“you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine.”
“You have more people marching against you than cancer,”
“the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c**k holster.”
Perhaps Colbert remains butt-hurt from his prediction? Embarrassed he went around telling his viewers Donald Trump would never be President. He is famous for saying, “come on, its been fun, but
Or is it something more sinister? Like Colbert’s crappy ratings!
From Colbert’s CBS debut, through Friday, September 9, 2016, the former Comedy Central personality has averaged a 0.62 rating in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic. He’s pulled in only 2 million total viewers per episode over that same time frame. And that was considered “good ratings” from last June when he had a 0.38 demo rating.
It must be a pathetic day when the man you so desperately hate is the only one keeping you between barely making your ratings and them pulling your failing show off the air.
Here’s what the Hollywood Reporter said of Colbert:
It’s a real coup for the CBS host, who is enjoying his best ratings since his 2015 launch thanks to relentless coverage of the Donald Trump administration. Last week saw Colbert poking fun at Rachel Maddow and her drawn-out delivery of select tax returns from the new U.S. president.
In other words, take Trump out of Colbert’s bag of tricks and he’s just another B-list Hollyweirdo whose act has played out.
Twitter users agree. They posted their disgust over Colbert’s so-called “comedy”:
@BecketAdams said, “This would be a fireable offense in better times. Worst thing about many Trump critics is they use him as an excuse to act as awful or worse.”
@Mullraniee said, “Trump’s greatest political asset is that he brings out the worst in his political opponents.”
@Johhnycpuccino, “Trump hating is accepted by the left media and had Hussein Obama gotten some of that it would have been calls for resignations and racism.”
Leftist tactics to mislead the American people have failed miserably. Leftists clamor to be relevant and ironically must use Conservatives for their lifelines.
I predict that within a year, most of the comedy hacks on the Left will be looking for new jobs.
