Megyn Kelly Just Got The Worst News of Her Career

Megyn Kelly Just Got The Worst News of Her Career

Megyn Kelly must feel the pressure of her $17 million deal. Because her ratings are at an all-time low.

In fact, reruns have more viewers than Megyn Kelly.

Right now, the waves are crashing in the rocky realm of lamestream journalism. The Russian story is falling apart.

Recently three CNN reporters were forced to resign over the fake news they reported. Their story linked Trump associates to a Russian investment firm. However, the trio fabricated the story. Now CNN will be forced to look inside for more potentially damaging fake news items.

Megyn Kelly shot out of the blocks in an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The ratings were not bad for her first show. However, Putin owned Kelly. Then came the bad news.

Kelly’s Ratings Plummet

As Allen B. West noted:

Ratings for her show “Sunday Night” on NBC have continued to slide, hitting a new low in both its key demographic and in overall viewers this past weekend.

She once again lost out to “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Ouch.

According to Variety, Airing at 7 p.m., “Sunday Night” averaged a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. That is down from a 0.5 and 3.6 million viewers last week’s episode, which featured Kelly’s controversial interview with InfoWars founder Alex Jones.

In the time slot, “Sunday Night” lost out to CBS’ “60 Minutes,” which was down from its last new episode on June 11 with a 0.7 and 7.2 million viewers. ABC led the night with a rerun of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.7, 3.9 million).

In poetic irony, the shows following Kelly’s were “Despicable Me” and a rerun of “Little Big Shots: Forever Young.”

It’s All Downhill

Radio host Mark Simone predicted Kelly’s downward spiral during the election.

Last week, he tweeted that NBC should cut it’s losses.

Former Trump confidant Steve Bannon of Breitbart opined that he knew Kelly was a bad bet.

He once told the head of Fox News: “She’s the devil, and she will turn on you.” She certainly turned on Fox News viewers.

Post-Republican debate where Kelly confronted then-candidate Trump, she changed dramatically. Kelly lost much of her Fox News audience, and did little to win them back.

Most people felt that Kelly had shown her true leftist ideology. Regardless, Kelly didn’t seem to care.

According to CNN, a veteran TV executive said

“They’ve [NBC] made a fundamental mistake about Megyn which is they think she’s a super star. What she is is a cable star, and that is a very different solar system.”

It seems this network executive may have nailed it.

And the numbers don’t lie.

And right now, Kelly can’t pull enough numbers to stay afloat. Even when she tried to create controversy with her Alex Jones interview, Kelly’s show fell flat.

Maybe liberal journalism just can’t compete with people tripping over themselves.
