Victory: Supreme Court Reinstates Trump Travel Ban

Federal Courts blocked Trump’s executive order. However, the Supreme Court issued a partial decision that reverses the lower court’s action.

Finally, the President can use his power to protect the people.

First, they consolidated several lawsuits into one. Second, they issued a partial ruling that immediately allows the implementation of the travel ban. Additionally, their decision was unanimous, which proves that Trump was well within his powers as president to issue such an executive order.

As Fox News reports:

The court’s decision means the justices will now wade into the biggest legal controversy of the Trump administration — the president’s order temporarily restricting travel, which even Trump has termed a “travel ban.”

“Today’s unanimous Supreme Court decision is a clear victory for our national security,” Trump said in a statement. “…As President, I cannot allow people into our country who want to do us harm. I want people who can love the United States and all of its citizens, and who will be hardworking and productive.”

He added: “My number one responsibility as Commander in Chief is to keep the American people safe. Today’s ruling allows me to use an important tool for protecting our Nation’s homeland.”

The court made clear that a limited version of the policy can be enforced immediately with a full hearing to come in the Fall.

Historically Speaking

Trump isn’t the first president to block refugees from a particular nation. Such actions can be traced all the way back to Jimmy Carter. Thus, refugees from countries such as Iran, Cuba, and North Korea have all been denied entry at some point. In fact, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, passed during the Cold War, gives the President authority over immigration.

“Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary,” Section 212 (f) of the law states, “suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Liberal Push-back

The Supreme Court’s decision was unsettling for leftists.

According to USA Today:

Supreme Court Reinstates Trump Travel Ban #kevinjackson[The decision] was immediately contested by immigrant rights and civil liberties groups challenging the travel ban, who argued that most would-be travelers cannot be barred under the court’s compromise ruling. “The hope is that this really only impacts a very small number of people,” said Becca Heller, director of the International Refugee Assistance Project.

Liberals don’t really care about these refugees. They’re just looking for a protest. We previously reported the story of Joey Salads. The prankster went undercover to put liberals to the test. He showed up at a protest asking leftists if they’d house a refugee in their own home. Not surprisingly, the excuses started rolling like a snowball downhill. Not even one leftist wanted to get personally involved. However, they were all willing to stand around and shout anti-Trump obscenities. For them, this is just a game. Yet, for Trump, this is a step towards a safer nation.

The lower courts did their best to block Trump, but the revised travel ban goes into effect this week. It will allow travel for those with green cards and visas. However, the refugee-ban stands. The Supreme Court action isn’t expected to solicit the massive protests Trump’s order faced originally. However, when it comes to liberals and their chance to run around with poster boards, we can never be too certain.
