Hollywood Box Office Hits All-Time Low
Is America finally revolting against the Hollyweird elitists?
After almost two years of failed attempts to influence the country with their twisted Leftist ideology, the Hollywood box office takes a hit.
DML daily reports:
“The nation’s movie box offices have had a miserable turnout recently, as an unremarkable August roster led to a slow month ending in one of the lowest-grossing weekends in 16 years.
From mid-August through early September, theaters typically see a decline in the movie business, but this August is down 35 percent from last year, according to ComScore. The last time the box-office had such a slow weekend, as Fox Business reports, was in September 2014 and 2016, but “not since September 2001 have the numbers been quite so dreadful.”
Certainly Hollywood suffers from a serious lack of originality.
If a movie isn’t based on a Marvel comic character, it’s almost a guaranteed flop. But Hollywood has another problem: actors actually believe themselves to be relevant outside of making films.
If the election cycle taught Hollywood anything, it’s that their opinions don’t matter anymore, at least when it comes to selecting a president. To believe otherwise is to be full of oneself. But let’s face it, there is no shortage of massive egos in Hollywood.
Their “Summer of Resistance” planned for Trump backfired and now apparently targets Hollywood. But don’t expect the Hollyweirdos to change any time soon. Hollywood continues living under the delusion that Leftism won in 2016. Thus, saying “Trump is bad for America” is still considered a career-builder.
Why the false hope?
Hollywood bought into the false idol Barack Obama. He offered a curious name, and an interesting story. Unfortunately for them, the Barack Obama movie didn’t offer America a Hollywood ending.
No matter, as Hollywood invested heavily in the Obama saga, thus they put muscle behind him and his team.
As we all know, Hollywood campaigned heavily for Hillary Clinton. They knew her flaws, but didn’t care. Hollywood is in the business of mind-control, and could therefore establish a new Hillary Clinton.
Anybody remember the movie they made of the Clintons?
Just when it seemed like there have been enough “October surprises” this campaign season, liberal documentary filmmaker and rabble-rouser Michael Moore has emerged with a contribution of his own, a new 2016 campaign-themed documentary that debuted Tuesday in New York City.
If you don’t remember the Clinton puff film, it’s because it was titled Trumpland. And the movie failed miserably.
In case you’re wondering how Hollywood feels about a self-made billionaire, graduate of Wharton turned president, here are just a few comments:
Robert De Niro-
“It’s crazy that people like Donald Trump… he shouldn’t even be where he is, so God help us,” he said. “What he’s been saying is really totally crazy, ridiculous … he is totally nuts.”
Jack Black
Black said Trump is “like a child,” going on to add of Trump in May that he’d prefer that “anyone but that dude” get elected.
Olivia Wilde
“The fact that we can have someone running for president who openly projects that xenophobia is really sickening.” “As someone who is about to have a daughter, this hits me deep in my core. #NeverTrump.”
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen has repeatedly swiped Donald Trump on Twitter. “Happy birthday, you monumental assh–e,” and went on to add, “I will never stop talking about how horrible Donald Trump is. Even after he loses, I will set an alert to my phone to remind me to not stop.”
Jennifer Lawrence
Lawrence dinged Donald Trump during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, saying of the candidate, “I was at a concert that I heard he was attending. So I had my full security, I was like, ‘Find Donald Trump.’ I was adamant on finding him and making a video of me going, ‘Hey, Trump. F– you!'”
George Clooney
He’s just an opportunist. Now he’s a fascist; a xenophobic fascist… The truth of the matter is, in election season, things go crazy, and the loudest voices are the furthest and most extreme.
Shut up and ACT!
It is getting harder and harder to go see a simple movie, television show, or even a listen to a song without these celebrities getting political. Their “award shows” dedicate themselves to self-adulation and Conservative bashing.
People are sick and tired of these spoiled, privileged celebrities who live in a fantasy world. They have no idea what the average American struggles with in their day to day lives.
Thanks for adding the movie industry to Target, the NFL, and Starbucks. The glitz of Hollyweird has revealed pewter. All the brands that have succumbed to Leftism’s are getting hammered, financially.
Keep it up, America!
