Another Congressman Resigning in Wake of Sexual Misconduct
At this rate the only people who will left to govern are eunuchs and Lesbians.
Holy Mother of Helen Reddy, the feminists have another trophy for the wall.
According to Roll Call,
The 8th District congressman did not confirm or deny any plans to resign. He said he expected to make a statement Thursday.
“We will have a statement a little bit later, but that’s all I can tell you right now,” Franks told Roll Call. “The statement will explain.”
It is unclear exactly why Franks is stepping down, but one Arizona Republican said there had been rumors of inappropriate behavior. The Republican said the congressman had apparently been making plans to run for Senate in 2012, but abruptly canceled those plans.
“There’s been rumors swirling around him for years, at least in 2012,” the Republican said. “And if this turns out to be true, there won’t be that many people who are surprised.”
For all these cases, I say, “What else is new?”
First, women always seek out rich and powerful men. The minute women know you are rich or powerful (or both), the radar goes up. A solid 5 becomes a solid 9.
How did Lyle Lovett marry Julia Roberts? Billy Joel gets Christie Brinkley if he was a steel worker? Uh…NO!
Second, DC is notorious for such scandals. And the minute a politician dare “step out”, particularly on his spouse, the smut brokers come out of the woodwork.
Remember the scene in the Godfather, where Senator Geary (G.D. Spradlin) tries to strong arm Michael (Al Pacino). But the threat fails to work.
Then, he got caught (ok, setup) with the dead hooker.
Dead hookers are not good for one’s political career.
After Michael Corleone set the Senator up, Dude is Christopher Columbus at the hearing:
Mario Puzo knew how politics works.
Nobody got killed with Franken or Conyers. Most of the women involved willingly participated, and you can bet a few were setups. Regardless, men catch the brunt.
Well, and the taxpayers.
We already know of the payoffs to keep these scandals hush hush. Now we need to see the list. That $17 million plus slush fund that became the DC lotto for a few women.
But if we aren’t going to expose the list, I’d certainly like know who is the “Keeper of the List”. Talk about political currency. I’d love to know that President Trump possesses that list. But I doubt it.
I’d like to say that Conservative Americans can feel good that we are in charge of government, therefore the brokers. And if real Republicans were in power, I would say that America will benefit from the “art of the deal”. However, we aren’t represented by real Republicans and haven’t for some time. Unfortunately, Paul Ryan and others in charge, I’m not sure what we can expect.
