Anti-Trump GOP Senator Bob Corker: ‘I have a newfound empathy for Trump’

Senator Bob Corker has been an open critic of President Trump.

Corker also told The New York Times in an interview in October that he is not alone in thinking that Trump could lead the country on the path toward “World War III”. Corker added that President Trump treats the presidency like “a reality show.”

Needless to say, President Trump has an interesting way of making fools of his critics: success. Well, success and the fact that most of what Trump says turns out to be true.

Like the president’s criticism of the media as “fake news”. And as it turns out, Senator Corker agrees.

According to Politico, Corker may have experienced “fake news” first-hand:

Sen. Bob Corker, among Donald Trump’s most frequent Republican critics, said Thursday that he has developed a new empathy for the president’s “fake news” crusade against the media after reports swirled about a “Corker kickback” that some allege prompted the senator to change his vote on the White House-backed tax reform bill.

“I told him that I’d had a healthy respect for the media. I deal with them all the time and, you know, to attack the media has not been something I’ve done. But I had a newfound empathy for him in watching how a totally debunked story” spread across the political media, the Tennessee Republican told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” as he recalled a recent conversation with the president.

“The guys that actually wrote this bill knew I had nothing whatsoever to do with it. But then you have this reporter who says this. All of a sudden people that I respect in the news media, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, people start printing this as if it’s true,” Corker continued. “A social media phenomenon generates from this and I’ve never ever used in my life the word ‘fake news’ until today. I actually understand what it is the president has been dealing with.”

So was the article responsible for Corker’s turnaround? Who knows.

In DC, politics impacts everything. Perhaps Corker jumps on the Trump Train, because he sees there’s no stopping the momentum. But one thing is for sure, Corker recognizes “something”.

And if he now sees it, who else has begun to see it. The fake news media doesn’t believe that “Corkers” exists.

Check out this NBC poll:

Only about a third of Americans say that they will definitely or probably vote for Donald Trump if he runs for reelection in 2020, while half indicate that they’ll definitely or probably support his Democratic general election challenger, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Do you honestly believe that any significant percentage of the people who elected Trump would not vote for him again?! Even taking into account all the people who died from Trump’s election, his pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord, net neutrality, and finally his tax plan, I still call bullsh*t.

And what of his revelation regarding Trump’s impeachment?

Donald Trump is hemorrhaging support among the American people, and now more than 40 percent of them think it’s time to start the process to impeach him, a new poll finds. The number is higher than the percentage of Americans who said they planned to vote for the president in the 2020 election.

And they wonder why President Trump calls the media fake news?

By the election of 2018, the media will be dust in the wind. The Trump Agenda lays waste to Leftist ideas, proving its effectiveness. And there will simply be no defense against results.
