Congress to File Contempt Charges Against FBI
In a move that’s long overdue, the FBI now must face the music.
In light of recent revelations about the FBI, America deserves answers.
As Zero Hedge reports,
Five weeks ago, House Speaker Paul Ryan accused the DOJ and FBI of “stonewalling” the House Intelligence Committee’s wide-ranging subpoena for all pertinent information about how the largely unsubstantiated “Trump dossier” played into the DOJ’s decision to launch the infamous Trump collusion investigation. At the time, the speaker said the agency was preparing to turn over the information requested by the committee, but despite his assurances, the promised documents never materialized.take our poll - story continues below
Then yesterday, thanks to a series of coordinated media leaks, Nunes learned – at the same time as the broader public – about the reassignment of Peter Strzok, a senior Mueller aide who had played a critical role in the DOJ’s original collusion investigation. And before that, Strzok helped lead the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information.
As it turns out, the agent had been reassigned for expressing anti-Trump sentiments in a series of text messages to FBI attorney Lisa Page while the two were having an affair. The bureau, it appears, had willfully tried to conceal this fact from Nunes and his committee.
Now Democrats find themselves on the hot seat.
Credibility of the FBI is shot. As is the credibility of those covering for them. We’ve even heard that Mueller may be investigating former DOJ employees:
So there is a story circulating the Mueller may be playing CYA.
In doing so, his investigation may have expanded to cover former president Barack Obama, and both is former attorneys generals, Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder.
According to True Pundit,
U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s sweeping investigation into President Donald Trump’s White House just expanded to President Barack Obama’s White House, True Pundit has learned.
Mueller’s probe has also expanded into the tenures of Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch in their official roles as U.S. attorney general during Obama’s two terms in the White House.
Mueller’s team — for the first time — has requested a number of DOJ records and emails related to Holder and Lynch, including additional records linked to Obama and Valerie Jarrett, who served as Obama’s senior advisor and controversial consigliere, according to federal law enforcement sources.
The revelations could indicate Mueller is looking at Obama and his Justice Department’s role in attempts to secure FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign in 2015 and 2016. Or perhaps Mueller is delving into the Uranium One debacle, even though Mueller himself is implicated in the growing scandal.
A cynical investigator would hypothesize Mueller could be getting an early and discreet look at Uranium One records to gauge any evidence implicating his personal exposure. It would not be the first time Mueller bent a few laws. However, such a feat would be difficult to pull off in a such a team-oriented investigation setting.
Officials did not confirm why Mueller is specifically seeking the records. But we can read between the lines here, although there are many known and emerging Obama-linked scandals at play.
We should not be surprised to learn this information, though we can’t verify this.
What we do know is that more Leftists will soon be under the microscope. And this could include Mueller.
Add the contempt charges coming from Congress and you have a very bad week for Democrats!
