Hallmark Family Christmas Movies: Too White Happy and Heterosexual

Hallmark Family Christmas Movies: Too White Happy and Heterosexual

The Hallmark Channel finds itself under fire by Leftist. And the reason will blow your mind.

Historically, The Hallmark Channel annually producing a series called the 25 days of Christmas. In each one of these family-friendly movies, they feature a traditional “Miracle on 34th St”-type motif. Thus, family-friendly Christmas entertainment.

The stories carry themes of warmth, family love, unity, kindness and selflessness, suggestive of what most American feel during the Christmas season.

Interestingly, Leftists in Hollywood complain of these movies. Apparently, Leftists prefer The Hallmark Channel showcase stories about rape murder, homosexuality, transgenders or Muslim refugees.

No, I’m not kidding.

Slate magazine published a scorching review of the network and their 25 days of Christmas;

“They brim with white heterosexuals who exclusively, emphatically, and endlessly bellow “Merry Christmas” to every lumberjack and labradoodle
they pass. They’re centered on beauty-pageant heroines and strong-jawed heroes with white-nationalist haircuts.”

How awful is that!? Hallmark paying tribute to heterosexuals of the worst kind…WHITE!

As we learned during the Era of Obama, America is too white, hetero, etc. Oh let’s just cut to the chase: The Hallmark Channel is TOO CONSERVATIVE!

Thus, according to Leftists the time has come to recognize all the other supposedly non-Conservative groups. Todd Stearns of Fox News said of Slate’s article:

There were complaints about the lack of gay people and feminists and Muslims in Hallmark Channel’s movies. Slate also whined about what it called the network’s “42 hours of sugary, sexist, preposterously plotted, plot hole–festooned, belligerently traditional, ecstatically Caucasian cheer.”

Preposterously plotted?

In my opinion there’s no denying the reality of the Hallmark Channel “Christmas Feel Good Movies” having a stereotypical Gaston, the strong-chinned mountain of a man, as portrayed in Beauty and the Beast.

Of course, Belle, the female character is played as a helpless lost beauty that can’t seem to find her way, until the hero comes, rescues her and saves Christmas.

So what? It’s a beautiful story. But only acceptable to Leftists if Gaston is written as a former white-turned black, woman-turned-man. As for Belle, well she falls for Gaston’s inner beautiful Puerto Rican stripper. Don’t smirk, as this is next year’s teaser for Mean Girls.

The simple reality that most people on the Left refused to accept is the fact that conservatives are extremely tolerant, fair and loving Americans. We do not hate, wish harm on, or any type of belittlement on the LGBT community or any other person living in America. Conservatives just want to go to work, live their lives, not be taxed to death and live their FREE and INDIVIDUAL VERSION of the American dream without being told what we have to watch on television or what we have to believe.

I find this attack so incredibly biased and pointless.

Why would Slate not look at BET and Univision for the same reasons? And why doesn’t Slate slam LGBT-friendly Bravo network for it’s lack of diversity in race? The Left will argue that Hollywood doesn’t show enough of the “other” side.

I agree to a point. Show more terrorist bombings by Muslims. Recall that post 9-11 many networks canceled their shows involving Muslims as terrorists. At least they didn’t replace the antagonists with Buddhists.

As for The Hallmark Channel Christmas lineup, the Left complains because the Left complains. Complaining is what the Left does. America is finally ignoring them, as one should petulant spoiled children.

As for me, all winter my family and I will cuddle in front of a huge roaring fire, watching The Hallmark Channel. We delight in the wonderful Christmas
presentations by Hallmark. And if Hallmark decides to show LGBTQ Muslim terrorists enjoying Christmas before jihad, we shall watch that too.
