BREAKING: Trump Lawyers file DEFAMATION Lawsuit Over Dossier
Things just got ugly for the media and Fusion GPS.
Donald Trump fights for his brand. Because the Trump name means something to him. And when that brand happens to represent America, he’s even more emphatic.
Thus, according to Fox News, President Trump’s team has decided to sue.
Michael Cohen, one of President Trump’s personal attorneys, filed a “defamation action” Tuesday against BuzzFeed News and its editor-in-chief over allegations about him that were published in the now-infamous “Trump-Russia dossier” compiled by a former British spy.
Cohen also filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Fusion GPS, the research firm that hired former MI6 agent Christopher Steele to compile the dossier.
In a lawsuit against BuzzFeed, filed in New York state court, Cohen said his personal and professional reputation had been harmed by BuzzFeed’s decision to publish the dossier.

The can of worms opens.
And with this lawsuit, BuzzFeed has two choices: (1) pay Trump, or (2) defend the lawsuit and bring in the other cast of characters who propagated this lie.
What a strategy! Genius, in fact.
Because what President Trump signals to the press and other Leftists is he will fight to the death…of them.
Cohen’s filing singled out BuzzFeed News Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith, because Smith decided to published the file. Smith did so,
“in spite of his awareness that the Dossier was … not intended to be part of public discourse or to make an argument in a public debate and that the Dossier’s content also bore multiple hallmarks of its irresponsible collection and compilation.”
BuzzFeed responded through Spokesman Matt Mittenthal:

“The dossier is and continues to be, the subject of active investigations by Congress and intelligence agencies. It was presented to two successive Presidents, and has been described in detail by news outlets around the world. Its interest to the public is obvious. This is not the first time Trump’s personal lawyer has attacked the free press, and we look forward to defending our First Amendment rights in court.”
Nice try, Mittenthal.
The free Leftist press that worked in collusion with the Democrat establishment to defame Trump? That press.
Let’s see how that works out for BuzzFeed in court, when the total truth about this dossier surfaces.
How it all began
BuzzFeed published the full dossier in January 2017, days before Trump’s inauguration, with essentially no verification of the veracity. The motive was to continue the fake news narrative set by the now-defeated Hillary Clinton campaign. The allegations against Trump were meant to provide cover for the crooked Clintons.
Undoubtedly the documents contained numerous unverified claims of Trump’s financial ties to Russia, and salacious nonsense of Trump’s sexual habits.
Trump’s attorney was mentioned prominently in the dossier, which claimed that he met with Russian officials in Prague during the summer of 2016. Much to the chagrin of BuzzFeed and the Leftist establishment, Cohen repeatedly denied that such a meeting ever took place. Moreover and easily provable, Cohen says he’s never been to Prague.
Now one would think BuzzFeed or Mueller (Is this thing on?!) could verify that simple fact by way of the State Department. So if Cohen never went to Prague, it goes to prove that the meeting never took place.
And dare I continue to connect the dots, but understanding those lies in the dossier might lead me to question more of it?
And what of Cohen’s supposed “an inappropriate and possibly criminal relationship with the Russian government”, claimed in the dossier. This claim stems from his relationship with his wife’s family. Cohen responded to this nonsense, saying his “wife was born in the Ukraine region and immigrated to the United States over … 40 years ago; she has never been to Russia.”
Again, a fact easily verified.
But as all Leftists do when caught, Smith doubled-down.
He penned an opinion piece in the NY Times. That’s right, Smith ran to “big bro” for support. The piece ran on the anniversary of the release of the dossier, as if this would be the day the Left brought down Trump.

Under the headline, “I’m proud we published the Trump-Russia dossier,” Smith wrote that the file is “unquestionably real news.”
“We strongly believed that publishing the disputed document whose existence we and others were reporting was in the public interest,” Smith wrote, adding “the chorus of criticism of our decision to publish has faded.”
Well, we may celebrate the anniversary of the dossier soon, as powerful Democrats finally get what’s been coming to them…PRISON.
As for BuzzFeed, I’d suggest you warn the legal team that they face a real battle. And this one they will not win.
