Documentary Captures Obama’s Shortcomings in Real-Time
Surely, the former president thought a documentary dedicated to him called, “The Final Year” would be an eternal display of Obama’s stellar diplomacy.
Unfortunately for Obama, viewers noticed just how woeful his administration really was.
I won’t bother to recount the failures, as there are far too many. Of course, the fawning (all-in on a bluff) media depict the Obama president otherwise. Nevertheless, President Trump proves my point.
But that doesn’t stop the Left from trying to convince the previously naive public of something different. Enter Samantha Power.
While she’s not nearly as intelligent as Nikki Haley, Samantha Power did serve as UN Ambassador. As her days in that post dwindled to an end, Power hosted an election party for highly influential women. Attendees included former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Bill Clinton apologist Gloria Steinem. Powers intended to host the ultimate shattering of the glass ceiling, as in the election of Hillary Clinton.
As the Washington Examiner writes:
“I thought what an amazing night for them. I mean, that’s what America represents to the world, when a glass ceiling is shattered in our country, it creates a whole new sense of possibility for people everywhere,” Power told Politico.
She added, “As the host, I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t be quite the blowout that it was anticipated to be, because I wanted to make sure that people had a chance to interact with Gloria Steinem…”
To be clear: Power’s greatest fear that evening was that it would be over too soon and that she wouldn’t have a proper chance to play uber-hostess.
“I wanted to milk the soft power dividend of this moment,” she told Politico.
The “soft power dividend of this moment” that never came.
The Examiner continues,
“You really see what so many people went through, which was all of that sense of promise and excitement, and frankly, a dose of complacency. And then, it slowly dawning on us that not only was this going to be much closer than anybody anticipated, but that it was not going to end well.”
She added, “And for me, every time I see that, I am haunted most, actually, by the images of my children, who were running around the apartment for much of the night, but when the election is called, my daughter, who at that time is four, is just lying in my lap, kind of like this pale, Irish statue, and there’s something about the way she’s lying, I don’t know, that just makes her look like she’s the one who’s going to inherit … what he does is on her, right?”
The little children would suffer, now that Hillary Clinton hadn’t shattered the glass ceiling. But what of this irony.
As the New York Post explains:
In a moment of woeful irony in the Obama-administration documentary “The Final Year,” UN Ambassador Samantha Power travels to Cameroon to offer photo-op comfort to families terrorized by Boko Haram — only to have her motorcade kill a 7-year-old boy.
Greg Barker, the director of this fan film, does his best to downplay the accident: It is discussed while we watch a clip of Power’s convoy moving at a crawl when in fact it was reportedly traveling at over 60 miles an hour when it struck the boy.
Who’s going to miss one black kid mowed down by an elitist white Leftist?!
For Powers, the election of Trump offered a far greater trauma. She says of Trump’s victory,
“I think that scene moves viewers the most because it triggers, I think, a kind of post-traumatic stress about their own election night experience, which mirrored mine.”
A Happy Ending
Too bad the film ends there.
One can only wonder what kind of PTSD is triggered by the steady rise of the economy? So far, the DOW continues to break records. Further, the NASDAQ steadily rises.
Tax reform has brought a windfall directly to the American people in the form of bonuses from over 200 companies. Many companies raised their minimum wage, without coercion.
And what of those adjusted W-9s, leaving more income in the checks of millions. Then the tsunami of April 15, when people get even fatter refunds on their taxes.

Ever the salesman.
Obama tried his last stab at propaganda. The Final Year. The final year of the assault on America.
Most Americans couldn’t be happier that we no longer have an Obama presidency. Certainly, Conservatives believe that. Actually, I suspect President Trump has won over even more Democrats since his election.
