Golden Globes’ SHAMEFUL War on Women
Why not appoint Harvey Weinstein as Chairman of the Board of this Leftist women’s fraud called Time’s Up?
Yet again, Hollywood showcases how it handles scandal. It pretends to care.
And so do the women of Hollywood. In some way, they ALL are part of the problem of the demoralizing way Hollywood executives treat women. Yet, as The Hollywood Reporter showcased, these women pretend to care:
Shonda Rhimes and Reese Witherspoon are among the key players of the effort, which includes a legal defense fund to help women in blue-collar industries and the call for women to wear black to the Golden Globes.
Three hundred prominent Hollywood women — including Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Judd, America Ferrera, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, Jill Soloway and Donna Langley — have launched an initiative to fight systemic sexual harassment in the workplace.
Called Time’s Up, the plan includes a legal defense fund to help women in blue-collar industries protect themselves from sexual misconduct, support for the “50/50 by 2020” effort to bring gender parity to the executive suites at Hollywood studios and talent agencies, and the call for women to wear black to the upcoming Golden Globe Awards as a sign of solidarity with victims of sexual harassment.
The New York Times reports that though Time’s Up has no central leaders, it is made up of numerous committees and includes Rhimes and Witherspoon among the key players, and its initiatives — which also includes the anti-sexual harassment commission unveiled last monthand chaired by Anita Hill — cover legislation, corporate policy, hiring practices and aggregating important resources. Well-known contributors to the defense fund, currently accepting donationson the GoFundMe platform, include Ava DuVernay, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Regina King, Felicity Huffman, Megan Ellison, Kate Hudson, Viola Davis, Alicia Vikander, Amy Poehler, Olivia Munn, Taylor Swift and Jessica Chastain, among many others.
I’d love to know the real story around how each of these women got their roles.
And you can bet it wasn’t because they were tops in their class, unless being on top is what counts.
Every single one of these women knows how Hollywood operates. But now they pretend to broaden their concerns, not only for Hollywood, but for women in “meaningless” jobs.
“Earning a living should not come at the cost of anyone’s safety, dignity or morale,” Rhimes said in the announcement.
“Every person should get to work in an environment free from abuse, assault and discrimination. It’s well past time to change the culture of the environment where most of us spend the majority of our day — the workplace. Fifty-one percent of our population is female, over 30 percent of our population is of color. Those are important, vital, economically powerfully voices that need to be heard at every level. Time’s Up is working to make sure the people walking the corridors of power within the workplace and in politics truly reflect the full mix of America — the real America that looks like and includes all of us. Look, this isn’t going to be easy but it is right. And fighting for what is right can seem hard. But letting what is wrong become normal is not easier — it is just more shameful.”
Note how they included the “30 percent of our population is of color”?
Nice touch, though I doubt these women care about protecting black men, for example, from the horrors of oppression at the job. For that to happen, they would have to care about black men getting jobs!
When will Leftists learn? We’re on to them.
Just a ploy to get people to watch the Golden Globes. And I will make a prediction now. The Golden Globes’ ratings will be worse than the previous year.
The 2017 “awards” show got a boost when Jimmy Fallon replaced Ricky Gervais.
With a 5.6 rating and 20.0 million viewers, Jimmy Fallon’s first stint hosting the HFPA gathering may see him get the job again.
But I still say viewership will be down, thus the “sexual harassment” test. And trust me, this is more than a test for Hollywood. This test has been paid for by the Democratic Party and other Leftist organizations.
Oh, this test has happened before when the Democrats put Kirsten Gillibrand on display.
Recall she is the protector of women who demanded Senator Al Franken step down. Sadly for the Left, that test failed on multiple levels. Because Trump remains president, and Gillibrand fell back into obscurity.
As we wrote of the failure of the Sexual Harassment Revolution,
In the wake of Harvey Weinstein and the multitude of accusations since that have brought down politicians and media heavyweights, women conveniently play the victims. But are they?
As J.R. Dunn wrote,
The great Sexual Harassment Panic of 2017 is at last dying down. We can safely look at a screen without being overwhelmed by stories in which yet another loser – or more than one – has been outed for mistreating or exploiting women. Resignations have been myriad, careers have been destroyed, and one suicide has occurred. We’re assured that the entire episode has been a watershed, that Things Have Changed permanently. It’s an earthquake, says Meryl Streep. Others hail “a new socio-sexual revolution.”
But what exactly has changed? Earthquakes are noted for massive and universal destruction, revolutions for the guillotine and the firing squad.
In fact, a cursory examination of the scene reveals…absolutely nothing. We stand at the same point we were at before it all happened.
A large number of creeps have been outed and ejected, and that’s generally a good thing. These were all trash – Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, Garrison Keillor, John Conyers. They will not be missed. They should have been nailed a long time ago, and they would have been nailed for something eventually.
But apart from that, nothing. A new day? Where? A new system? In what sense?
In fact, less than nothing.
What we’ve learned about the Women’s Movement is women were complicit in hurting other women. They ALL knew what was happening.
It’s fun to watch as Leftists test their strategy, again and again. And they watch them fail again and again.
Time’s Up alright. Time’s up for women to stop handle their scandal. They hurt women with their fake cries of discrimination or sexual assault from some guy’s hand going too low in a picture.
Time’s up for women to stop with selective enforcement of the rules. If Brad Pitt puts his hand on your ass, I want his penis cut off as well.
