Harvey Weinstein Attacked at Scottsdale Restaurant

When I saw the story about Weinstein being attacked at a restaurant, I thought, “What took so long?!”

Not that I wish ill will on Weinstein. It’s just that many people harbor strong emotions around his actions. OJ garnered the same reaction. Remember how they protected OJ when he was to be released?

They don’t want The Juice’s parole to be soured.

O.J. Simpson has been given protective measures at a Nevada prison after learning that he will soon go free, prison officials confirm.

A Nevada board granted the 70-year-old’s parole on Thursday, though prison officials have worried that the inmate’s infamy could lead to problems before he is eligible to leave on October 1.

And you can bet OJ stay vigilant with out in public. As for Weinstein, the incident was reported By TMZ:

Harvey Weinstein was attacked Tuesday night at a restaurant … TMZ has learned.

Weinstein was at Elements restaurant at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Scottsdale, eating dinner with his sober coach when 2 men sat at a table next to them.

One of the men — Steve — tells TMZ he walked up to Weinstein and told him he loved his movies and would like to take a photo with him. Steve says Weinstein became belligerent and told him to buzz off. The manager of the restaurant says Weinstein was not belligerent — she says to the contrary he was “very sweet about it” and said, “I’d rather not take a picture right now.” The manager says the two shook hands and Steve went back to his table.

Certainly believable. Except that part about the man being a fan of Weinstein.

I can’t imagine Weinstein would have behaved belligerently. But it appeared the matter was squashed. The article continues,

At around 9 PM, Weinstein and his sober coach got up to leave at the same time Steve and his dinner companion were leaving. Steve tells TMZ he had “quite a bit to drink,” told his friend to fire up his cell phone and shoot video of what was about to happen.

Steve says he walked up to Weinstein and said, “You’re such a piece of s*** for what you did to these women,” and then punched him in the face twice. He says Weinstein stumbled backward and almost fell.

A restaurant manager says neither attempted punch connected, and the guy was drunk and out of control.

Both sides agree … the person who filmed the incident asked Weinstein if he wanted to call the police, but Weinstein declined and everyone left the restaurant.

Magnanimous for Weinstein to not press charges. Obviously “Steve” is a drunk and not much of a fighter.

Regardless of what you think about Weinstein, he deserves what’s left of his life. Let’s hope that in his “healing” he has the guts to out other members of his fraternity who sexually abuse women just because Hollywood allowed it.

Further, I hope Weinstein has the guts to out the disingenuous enablers, including the many women, who allowed him to get away with his crimes.
