BLOWBACK: Nancy Pelosi ANGERS Democrat Base
What an out of touch witch Nancy Pelosi is.
She called $1,000 bonuses companies give back to employees “crumbs”.
Whatever money American taxpayers get back should be appreciated. But Pelosi’s comments prove that for her, the only good money is what the government steals and at rare times gives back.
This is a devastating and incredible gaffe from Nancy Pelosi that will likely fuel many Democrats' concerns that she is killing her party's efforts to appeal to working class voters again. pic.twitter.com/CfuBuT6x6f

“A number of companies are attributing the tax bill for being able to give higher wages to their employees as well as being able to give a number of bonuses to their employees. How do you respond to that?”
“In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic. It’s so pathetic.”
“I would hope that with their big advantage of bringing money home at a very low rate that they would invest in infrastructure and things, but our experience has been that they will do dividends, do stock buybacks, and things like that. I think it’s insignificant.”
Downplaying the bonuses, Pelosi appeared to be talking about AT&T. She commented that part of the money was part of a union contract. There is no evidence of that.
Next, Pelosi then said that AT&T would lay off 1,500 employees, and reduce the work-week of others to 32 hours. Unwittingly, Pelosi took a shot at the unions. They are the reason for layoffs, and it appears that AT&T would have given their employees a grand without the unions.
Pelosi failed to mention that most companies moving to 32-hour work-weeks do so because of Obamacare.
On that note, imagine what Pelosi would say, if Obama had managed to create an economy whereby “evil” capitalists gave employees back $1,000? Democrats would be throwing parties and trying to figure out what new awards to give to The Great Black Hope.
Recall that Pelosi said passage of the Trump tax plan would bring Armageddon? Well, apparently Armageddon isn’t as bad as we thought.
“The debate on health care is life, death. This is Armageddon,” Pelosi said. “This is a very big deal, because you know why? There’s really a very hard way to come back from this.”
Somehow people seem to be taking Armageddon well.
But Pelosi didn’t stop at Armageddon. She called the Trump tax plan, calling it a disaster.
In this video Pelosi says the tax plan robs citizens (veterans and children…yes, she said that) in order to give more to corporate America.
Who promptly gave money to its employees.
And what of Walmart who announced a wage increase and bonuses as a result of the sweeping legislation, which included a slashing of the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent? Are they too robbing citizens?
Many Americans anxiously await Trump’s tax plan to play out. The success is almost a foregone conclusion. Because companies like stability in leadership, and they want pro-capitalist policies.
The Democrats bet on the wrong horse, as they bet on Failure. Trump rarely fails. And if the economy of 2017 is any indicator, 2018 will be the Democrats Waterloo.
Social media responded:
Pelosi got little help from her socialist base. But many chimed in chastising Pelosi for her idiotic comments.
To Nancy Pelosi, Americans are just peasants asking for "crumbs."
This is exactly why you lost the White House & why Republicans are headed for another historic victory this November.
This peasant votes.#NancyPelosi

Nancy Pelosi called the bonuses offered by companies as a result of the GOP tax plan "crumbs" and "so pathetic."
Hey Nancy, I know these bonuses may be "crumbs" to someone worth anywhere from $29 to $100 million, but to regular Americans it means more money in their pocket.

Nancy Pelosi says pay raises created because of the Tax Bill are crumbs? So far 81 companies have given pay raises. Walmart just up'd their starting pay from $9 to $11, plus bonuses and maternity leave. I know that might seem like crumbs to you, Nancy, but not to 99% of us
